Even if the Mavs make the playoffs, they're a one and done team. I don't see them advancing past the first round. The Mavericks haven't beaten a winning team ever since acquiring Kidd. Like many people said before, they shot themselves in the foot with that trade. They gave up WAY too much for him, and it didn't make them any better. If anything, they got even worse
Take a look at my blog for my thoughts here. In brief though, the Mavs are 0-10 against playoff teams since early February and haven't gotten a win against a quality opponent since the Kidd acquisition. In fact, since February, not only are they sucking against the top teams, they're only 13-12 in the past couple months, and 9-8 with Kidd (I think). They've been playing awful and this isn't going to help them at all. If they're in the playoff race by the time he gets back, I'll be shocked. Avery Johnson better coach his brains out for the last 3 weeks of the season, otherwise he's going to be out of a job.
