The Mavs are 9-8 with Kidd and has lost all 8 games against teams with winning records. Although he has made an impact with his teammates, he has yet to make an impact for himself. Making Dirk or the others better is not enough. Kidd has yet to show up. And time is almost up for him and the Mavs. With Dirk out, Kidd has to live up to the hype he brought. No time for excuses, he has to "re-wire" himself to be more of a scorer that he can be. What makes his shooting percentage worse is the manner in which he takes them. Most of the time, Kidd takes shots without confidence. If anything, he doesn't want to take one at all. He doesn't have to lead the league in scoring. But he has to take (and make) more shots to keep the defense honest. Everybody in the arena knows that he will pass the ball. Kidd has become predictable. He has to stop pleasing his teammates to actually help them. Kidd may not be the prolific scorer that Nash or Paul is, but his 7 point average is just ridiculous, even with his 35 year old body. I believe that he can still score. But he has to want it. Only Jason can turn it on. Not his teammates, not Avery and not even Cuban. Like I said, he doesn't need to lead the league or even his team in scoring. He just needs to score enough to be able to do the other things he is capable of. A lot are already calling the trade a mistake. The only thing going for him is that he has the choice to change that. The Triple Double Machine has yet to show himself. And he has little time to do so.

Unless Kidd learns how to shoot... He wont need to prove himself anymore, everyone will simply say that he's a bust [IMG]

umm yea... Jason Kidd a bust...

Kidd has 12 triple doubles this year. The total for triple doubles by every other player in the NBA is 24...

The Mavs don't have much depth, and Avery is coach. If Kidd had a team like the Lakers and had their depth and their coach, along with Bynum, Odom, Gasol, etc. He'd be on his way to a championship.
