okay, I'll admit even I'm getting sick of the Fedor drama, I just wish he'd hurry up sign and start fighting because that's what's so great about him.. fighting this other stuff is getting played out.
As much as I want Fedor in the UFC fighting where a lot of the top HW's are, Gawd I'd kill to see the Kimbo myth ended in about 2-3 mins

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Elite Xtreme Combat has offered Fedor Emelianenko a four-fight, 18-month contract, according to a report by the website Nokaut.com.

According to the report, under terms of the proposed deal, Emelianenko's first two fights would take place on CBS with the final two fights taking place on pay-per-view. Financial terms have not been revealed, but it is believed that Fedor is being offered a portion of PPV revenue.

Officials from EliteXC have yet to comment on the report.

Fedor's true contractual status at this time is uncertain. It was announced in October that he had signed with M-1 Global as its signature star. However, according to a report by Sherdog.com, Fedor never signed a formal contract with the promotion and only signed a letter of intent. M-1 Global vice president Brian Patton was reported to have denied the Sherdog story, claiming that he watched the contract being signed.

It is interesting to note that according to the Nokaut report, Fedor would have to be announced as being from M-1 Global under terms of the EliteXC proposal.

While there is still much uncertainty, it is widely known within the MMA industry that Emelianenko's management has been soliciting proposals from various promotions over the course of the past several months. In addition to EliteXC, the UFC and Golden Boy Promotions/Affliction have reportedly expressed an interest.</div>

You wouldn't think EliteXC has much to gain from having him. His reps supposedly want $2-million a fight. I don't know who they might pair him against (Big Foot?) but it seems like a lot of money to spend on a guy who most North American fans won't recognize.

and they probably wouldn't have access to highlights of most of his fights (ie Pride fights) as the UFC owns the video library from Pride so they'd have a hard time hyping him up too.

gawd Fedor's management is wasting his prime fight years for a few extra bucks.. it's retarded.

It is a lot of money for Elite to pump into a guy that really doesn't satisfy most of their target demographic.

The people that got into MMA because of backyard fight videos on Youtube really don't give a rat's ass about some chubby Russian guy.

Celtic your point about his highlite package is a good one too. They would really need to market this guy to get value out of him.

Just want this thing resolved, regardless of the result.

I'm getting to the point where I don't care about him or Randy all that much anymore. Greed is ruining two guys who had much respect and are quickly losing it.

Fedor couldn't get a contract signed with M-1 and half of Fedor's people ran that promotion. If he couldn't get a deal done there, is he really going to iron one out with Gary Shaw and ProElite? Not likely.

To be honest I'd be shocked if he didn't end up in DREAM. He has a history with those guys, not to mention his God-like status in Japan.

So Gary Shaw has recently confirmed that Fedor E. is, in fact, asking for $2-million per bout in addition to the other demands made by his camp.

Looks like Fedor is still a long way away from competing stateside.

I find it very odd that there isn't any rumor's floating around about negotiations with the UFC. Makes me think that there might be slim chance.

Well Fedor's camp issued a statement that they were willing to reopen negotiations with the UFC, and Dana White reciprocated that sentiment by saying the same thing, and claiming that "[The UFC] will see what [it] can do."

It is just beginning to feel more and more like Fedor doesn't really want to fight like he used to. Either that or he's got somebody pulling his strings.

I was thinking the same thing. and based on the 2 million dollar price tag I think that it will be tough to get him to fight in North America.

It's just that this is incredibly uncharacteristic of Dana and the UFC to remain this quiet for so long after those initial statements.

Well Dana was quite for a while about the Silva vs RJJ specualtion too.. could he finally be thinking before he speaks?

their HW division is thinning out, they must be seriously discussing things with Fedor and thinking about it or they're not talking at all and Fedor will return to Japan to beat up on Cans and face a decent HW once in a while.

Fedor to the UFC would definitely bring Cro-Cop back and may hurry the return of Tim Sylvia who says he parted way amicably and after getting a log of fights and paydays over the next few yrs would like to return to the UFC.

It may also get Randy to grow up and finish his contract.

IMO this will determine how good the UFC's HW division will be and how strong their hold on the sport will be.
