<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>EL SEGUNDO - Pau Gasol did not make enough progress to take the floor at practice Tuesday, Coach Phil Jackson said, possibly pushing Gasol’s return to Sunday at the earliest.

Gasol still has swelling and soreness in his sprained ankle but Jackson stopped short of calling it a setback.

“He didn’t improve between Saturday and today,” Jackson said.

The Lakers had hoped that Gasol could practice Tuesday and be available Friday against Memphis. Asked about that target date, Jackson said, “I’m sure he’d like to be back for Memphis but I don’t know if that’s a possibility.”

The Lakers play Washington on Sunday.

Jackson also said Derek Fisher appears to be OK from a contusion on his left knee suffered late in Monday’s game. Fisher and most of the other starters were given Tuesday off from practice.</div>

Thank God it's now, these next two games against Charlotte and Memphis on Wednesday and Friday should be winnable games without him. Knowing the Lakers though, I wouldn't be surprised if we played down to their level.

I'm cool with pushing his return back. The upcoming games are very winnable without him and I rather him be fully ready than just 85%.

This guy is such a pussy. If Kobe had an injury like that, he wouldn't even miss a freakin game. But, if we'll be 100% for playoffs, it's gonna be all success. [IMG]

I don't know if you've ever tried playing on a sprained ankle, but it's nearly impossible.

Is Gasol soft? Yes. But any player would be out with this injury, including Gasol.

Kobe tweaked his ankle, Gasol's ankle sprain is legit. Major difference between a tweaked ankle and a sprained ankle.

A High Ankle Sprain is also death.

TO's not exactly a pussy and he was out for about a month before the playoffs.

Kobe has missed games with sprained ankles in the past. He missed an NBA Finals game (vs the Pacers) due to a sprained ankle

A sprained ankle is impossible to play on. You can't put any weight on it and lateral movement is impossible.

Yea guys, Gasol's injury isn't that easy. But all the predictions have been quite wrong, that's what really frustrates me.
