Man is there any weakness on this team? They have everything an NBA team needs to succeed in the west and especially in the postseason.

A near perfect front court with great interior defense, shotblocking, rebounds...a dunker in Chandler, a great mid range shooter in West, and the leagues best 3pt shooter.

A well rounded backcourt including several swingmen in Butler, Peterson, and Pargo, along with Bonzi Wells who will get to the basket and post-up. Not to mention he this is his contract season and he likes to step it up in the playoffs.

And lets not forget about Chris Paul. He has the leagues best assist/to ratio and that almost says everything. He turns it on when he needs to and he steps up for big games. If you are not beating this team by more than 10 points going into the fourth, they will beat you. They are the team to beat, and in the 4th they will outscore you.

They matchup well with every team in the league, and they give matchup problems to just about every team in league. The only team I see giving them some trouble in the postseason is the Utah Jazz. As long as they don't meet them, they will make it to the WCF.

    Your right.

Their GM did a fantastic job building this team around Chris Paul, the only major concern I would have is they are a pretty injury prone team, Peja goes down and there goes the outside shooting. The bench is nothing to brag about either but they are contenders.

But injuries are a concern for every team. It can happen to anyone at any second. Some are lucky and some aren't.

Pargo, Bonzi, and Wright are an okay bench. If Peterson can contribute offensively by knocking down open 3s and cutting to the basket, they will win the whole thing. If they can't get that from Peterson, then they need to put the ball in Bonzi's hands to create some offense so the attention isn't only on Chris Paul. He can post up two-guards, and his interior passing out of double teams is superb, he always finds the cutter.

Yeah...GM brilliance right there, stealing Tyson Chandler for PJ Brown. This reminds me of the Bulls...when Tyson was here. The guy always gets those big rebounds in the fourth that are necessary for a team to make those fourth quarter comebacks and/or hold on/pull away.

Not to mention they still have Julian Wright for the future.

getting the birdman back is an underrated aquisiton. they finally get a good backup to west and chandler and paul has another finisher to pass to. the hornets will be dangerous in the playoffs.

LOVE julian, if only he was seasoned enough, he'd be perfect backing up peja and west. he's gained some muscle as well but next year, him and paul wil compliment each other well once they let bonzi go

Getting Bonzi was HUGE, he's upgraded their bench alot! Bobby Jackson did absolutly nothing down here.

To say he did "nothing" is absolutely false. He had his good games, his bad games, and his injuries.

To say the Hornets didn't need Jackson is absolutely true.

Of course, he's definitely more valuable to Houston and Adelman.

And it wasn't exactly a bold prediction as if you made it before the season...both teams were atop the standings at this point.

It was when the Jazz were 5th seed, and there were 7 teams in "contention" out of the west. To not include Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, or the Lakers in the WCF before the playoffs started does sound bold to every ESPN analyst.

We will see who the final two teams in the west are.

The Jazz were fortunate enough to catch injured teams thus far, but that doesn't mean anything. All that matters is they will be in the WCF with the Hornets.

    Pass what your smoking buddy.

    Lakers Vs. Hornets.

Lakers still have home court and Kobe isn't going to let them lose this one

Yes, Kobe's back is not as bad as it was earlier in the series. He's getting more lift on that jumper.

I want him to end this series in game 6. I'm sick of the Jazz. They don't deserve respect for their dirty wins.

I hope it's the Hornets and Jazz. Who in their right mind wouldn't wanna see Deron Williams and Chris paul match-up in the playoffs. The NO-SaS series ain't over tho.

Are you out of your mind? Bobby Jackson is one of the purest shooters that the Hornets had until they traded him. He's an amazing dangerous weapon. Not nearly as dangerous as he once was in Sacramento, but he's still someone you have to worry about night in and night out.

But the trade they made to get Wells and James was a brilliant move. Bonzi is a more well rounded player, and will open up some space this off-season to go after a possible big name. And the trading of pick #27 will only give them more money to get someone that could put them in position for an NBA title.

Hornets GM has turned this team right-side up real quick. I couldn't believe the doubters before the season started this past year. Nobody saw this team in the radar. I may be a Hornets fan, but I saw what they had and I saw them doing great things before the season even began. They are deep, and they're bench isn't as bad as people make them out to be.

    Welcome!

As a Bulls fan, I like to say the Hornets were led by Chandler and Pargo to a nice playoff run and they're serious contenders.
