anyone seen it? i just watched it, i figured i'd like it going in. i usually like these types of movies that deal with mystery and such. i also like andre braugher. i found the movie to drag on and many of the themes seemed too cliche and bored me to death. i still don't know how i feel about the ending, need to think on it, but i think it's representative of something that will click sometime as i think about it. thoughts?
Apparently, the ending was the one significant change they made from the book to the film. I think they just did it to shock the audience (I know it worked on me). As for the movie itself, once that initial shock wore off, I remembered how tedious the entire thing was.
yah, i'm reading up on some things now and i can see that. but the book ending is a typical stephen king ending it seems, which i'm also not a fan of. i just feel like his story lines seem appealing to me, but the actual story and resolution are always poop.
OT: I just took a look at movies by Stephen King, and was surprised to find quite a few that I liked. But there are some movies, such as Dreamcatcher, that I hate with a passion. I read the Wiki's on The Mist (book and movie), and I must say, it sounds pretty lame to me. Although...the ending to the movie was surprising as hell. Probably the only part of the movie I would've liked, if I had seen the movie (which I refuse to).
pretty good movie. the ending was a huge shock, i was just like wtf... it does get a little slow, and unbelievable because of the way the people act. but you really hate some of the characters in the movie, which to me makes it a good movie.

The story had some potential but the execution was poor. Of course my friend liked the book though, which is probably better.
Well, I actually watched The Mist (not because I wanted to, but because my friends wanted to) and it was just as lame as I thought it would be. I laughed when the overly religious lady created havoc with her religious stuff. And then I laughed (and was later disappointed) when she got shot. I mean, should I really have been surprised? Anyways, it was pretty funny how the black guy got all the other black guys to band with them. To me it seemed like there was some hidden "messages" that King might have been sending - about humanity. I don't feel like explaining about it right now, but that movie really got me thinking, not gonna lie.
