Gary Payton at age 25 (1993-94)

    35.1 mpg, 16.5 ppg, 6.0 apg, 3.3 rpg, 50.4% overall, 27.8% from deep, 59.5% from the line, 2.3 spg, 2.1 topg

Devin Harris at age 25 (with Nets)

    34.5 mpg, 15.9 ppg, 6.6 apg, 3.3 rpg, 43.1% overall, 28.1% from deep, 79.7% from the line, 1.3 spg, 2.5 topg

It was the next season that Payton had his breakout year. Over the succeeding nine years, he averaged 20 and 8. That would be nice.

And here is where usually I'd be a wise-ass and say "Yeah, well how many rings has Payton won?" Stupid Miami Heat.

I'd compare him to Tony Parker w/ a jumpshot before I compare him to GP.

The stats are similar. I'd say he has a chance to say the least. He's the best player on the team right now.

Gary Payton was shooting 7% better FG%, 50% is quite a bit better than 43% for a guard.

That doesn't necessarily mean Payton's a better shooter. More than likely he was shooting a bit less, and getting more easy buckets (layups).

He also shot 60% from the line, while Devin shoots 80%. 60% from the line for a guard is despicable.

Anyways, if Devin started the shit talking, as well, that would be awesome. And if Sean turned into a clean Shawn, my life would be nearly complete.
