Jesse Jones d. Jesse Gillespie via TKO (strikes), 1/0:35 Darren Uyenoyama d. Anthony Figueroa via Submission (guillotine choke), 1/1:27 Tiki Ghosn d. Luke Stewart via Decision (unanimous) Joey Villasenor d. Ryan Jensen via KO (punch), 1/4:45 Wayne Cole d. Mike Kyle via Submission (armbar), 1/0:45 Gilbert Melendez d. Gabe Lemley via TKO (strikes), 2/2:18 Drew Fickett d. Jae Suk Lim via Submission (guillotine choke), 1/1:14 Cung Le d. Frank Shamrock via TKO (injury), 3/5:00 Billy Evangelista d. Marlon Sims via KO (strikes), 3/0:39 Smokin' Joe's knockout was vicious. The guy is an exciting fighter with terrible hair. Gilbert Melendez still doesn't look like the fighter he was before he headed out to Japan. Drew Fickett is a f'n retard. Man I hate that guy. Can't wait for Shields to kick his ass. Cung Le deserved his win over Frank. Frank was a bonehead for keeping the fight standing. One of 2008's best fights so far. Marlon Sims knocked out... wish I'd seen that one. How was that the last fight of the night?
I can see Frank coming up with excuses very soon. although watching it, he seemed content to stay on the outside and throw kicks. He did try for a couple of weak takedowns, but never go in the clinch and tried to dirty box him or anything. all I could think was "If either guy faced Anderson Silva, they'd be KTFO'd in the 1st"
I couldn't help but think that Cung Le may have a better chance than any MW weight in the world at taking out Anderson...and I'm a bigger nut hugger than most people. I still think he would get tooled, but he just has such an unpredictable and violent style. He could connect at anytime.
I think the reason it was so timmied was becouse they used to be sparing partners. The history wouldnt be there if eather one of them faught Silva.

Silva would land a couple of his crushing shots and drop him. Just like he did to Chris Leben. Say what you want about Leben but that guy can take a punch and he was decimated vs Silva. Dropped like a sack of potatoes.
Cung didn't show a well-rounded striking game. He stayed too far away from Frank and would only throw a couple of shots at a time. Anderson throws combinations like daggers and closes the distance to utilize his clinch game. I don't think Cung would be much competition for Anderson at this point in his career, especially if the fight went to the ground.
Just for the record I would still be willing to bet a couple weeks salary on Anderson taking that fight; Le just has a wild aggressive style, it's a little harder to prepare for then a Chris Leban. And celtic I have to disagree I think he hits hard. Well he kicks hard. And if he could figure out a way to avoid getting knocked silly in the first couple rounds they could wear on Silva. But more than Silva's striking, I think his chin makes this another walk in the park for him. He likely wouldn't be knocked out before before caving Le's face in
I think Le's striking wears a guy down because he throws so many kicks, but you don't see him getting that clean crisp KO like Silva has. He only has 1 KO victory and the other 5 are TKO stoppages, signally he's beating guys up but not KTFO'ing them.
