<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>Marcus Williams was drafted at age 20 to succeed Jason Kidd as the Nets’ starting point guard, the succession planned for Kidd’s retirement. Then, a funny thing happened at age 22. The Nets traded Kidd for Devin Harris, age 24, and Williams has admitted it’s not been an easy transition for him. But in recent games, he seems to have regained his balance, particularly when playing alongside Harris.</div>

Okay, I'll buy it. He's showing serious promise as a good backup.

he needs to go. thats it, theres no growing or whatever in the nba. either youre good for nba competition or not. hes not gonna 'grow up' and be amazing all of a sudden, hes just stalling saying oh yeah hard transition or something, hes done all he can do, he needs to go. the team can get someone 10x more productive

how can you say there is no growing up in the NBA? ....... I can give you tons of examples...

Players need a transition time from playing high-school to the Pros.
Players need to understand the NBA pace etc...

theres tons of growing up to do.

Yes, I would rather trade Marcus away... but hell no to no growing up.

That is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Yeah, a 21 year old cant grow and improve his game. Moronic.

Some NBA players that "grew up":

    Travis Outlaw
    Jermaine O'Neal
    Gerald Wallace
    Michael Redd
    Rashard Lewis

There's more, but those are just a few off the top of my head. These guys all came in, didn't do well in their first few years, and then "grew up" and are now all good players.

you really think t.o williams can "grow up" ? who do you think he'll grow up to be like ? he might start having 10 assists, 20 points, and 10 rebounds a night since some grow up to be Completly different players once they get 2 years + years in the nba.

    Kobe Bryant
    Al Jefferson
    Elton Brand
    Marcus Camby
    Boris Diaw
    Manu Ginobli

all these guys came in and didnt have instant impact, but now they are all stars in there respective team.

A winning team would never have Marcus at SG.

This would be the perfect post if you were being sarcastic.

He hasn't finished his second year in the league, and he was out for a large chunk of it due to injury. He's 22. LOL as if players never get better after college; what a complete joke.

All players grow. I remember when kobe was a rook and came off the bench and airballed so many shots its not even funny, and he looked like a shorter version of sean williams ( body-wise). And now look what he is. So you cant really say that players cant grow or dont grow because they do, and thats how they become superstars or mvps.
