<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Real @ Apr 1 2008, 11:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I'm a old school rock kind of guy. The Police, U2, Billy Joel, The Stones, Pink Floyd, Bon Jovi, David Bowie, and of course Bruce Springsteen. I highly suggest you check out all of the above.

My favorite is Bruce. His music means a lot to me and a lot of other people not only from Jersey but from all over the world because he's able to take things that happen in ordinary life and put them into song. Plus, him and the E Street Band are probably the best live peformers out there now even now (Sorry Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Lil' Wayne, Jay-Z et. al).

Songs I would recommend from him to start:
    Rosalita (Come out tonight)
    E Street Shuffle
    New York City Serenade
The entire Born to Run album (seriously, it's worth it)
    Badlands
    The River
    Hungry Heart
    Born in the U.S.A.
    Dancing in the Dark
    Glory Days
    Tunnel of Love
    Brilliant Disguise
    Streets of Philadelphia
    The Rising
    Radio Nowhere
    Livin' in the Future
Long Walk Home</div>I love your taste my man, but I do have one question......why didnt you recommend Incident on 57th Street?

I was at that live perfomance in St. Paul

I've seen that video before. That's one of the greatest things I've seen on YouTube.

Incident on 57th Street is a great song. That entire album Wild, Innocent and E Street Shuffle is outstanding. The stuff he made before he was famous. Obviously I'm a big fan considering my avatar.

    Where were your seats?

^We were on the floor but not in the pit section (I was in pit for my second Bruce concert and I have some videos on youtube if you are interested). I remember when he started playing Incident I was just in shock cause I didnt think he played it much in concert.

    I'm bumping this up

I've listened to a lot of the music here, I like some of it, and some of it, I probably need to grow into. Probably should've given some songs more chances than I have. I'll probably revisit this thread in the future and look over the songs again

Just wondering, lately, I'm listening a lot to Maroon 5 and The Goo Goo Dolls. I'm not sure if these two are considered good bands or not, but I like them. Does anyone know any other bands similiar to those two?

Uh... based on Maroon 5/Goo Goo Dolls... how about the Dave Matthews Band?

Well, they're generally considered pop rock. I'd say no, but don't let that determine what you listen to.

Some people see Dave Matthews as the same way, but they're a lot more legitimate, if you're looking for that sort of sound.

Another legitimate band that can seem to have that dentist office rock feel is Jack Johnson.

Neither are my favorites, but they seem to be in line with your tastes from what you said.

Thanks for the recommendations VC. I already checked out some of Dave Matthews, and I like their stuff.

Also, I'm not really into hardcore / screamer music. Actually, I cannot stand it. lol [IMG]

So you didn't like the Beatles?

I was also thinking, I wonder how you'd like the Smashing Pumpkins. Their new stuff is horrible (but that's largely because it's only half the original band), but I grew up on their older stuff -

    <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/E2snP7rGP6g&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/E2snP7rGP6g&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>

or here's a different sounding song from them -
