dude, you WOULD see the difference if frank played him. he HAS a decent jumpshot. tell me Jason collins Blocked many shots. had at least 5 points a game, 3 rebounds and a .518 FG%. wow you ppl are blind, i know you all feel bad for him. but collins better than this ? Conversation Over.

They are 0-7 when he plays less than 10 minutes. They are 19-55 overall.
Wow, just a ridiculous, utterly meaningless stat, I hope u were kidding with that. By that ratio, they really should just play him 48 minutes every night, and the Nets should've, too. Who cares if he was literally the worst starting player in modern history. That made me laugh, so thanks, you made my day. Getting rid of Collins was one of the only bright spots to the season. If someone were to ask me at the beginning of the year "you can either make the playoffs and lose in the first round, or miss the playoffs and get rid of Collins forever," I'd have taken scenario 2 in a effin' heartbeat.

The Nets dont need Collins, but he would be preferable because of his contract compared to Swift. And lol @ those who say Swift has a jumpshot.
look, collins for swift was pointless but it wouldnt not mean the nets would be better or worse then they are now so its SO pointless arguing about it. just give it up, plz.

I think it'd be wise to keep in mind that Swift isn't a horrible player, but what he brings to the table (or doesn't) doesn't make him an optimal fit here. He's quick getting to the basket, but that is rarely used because there are other, more favorable options, available. What Swift really needs to bring is a dedication to defense, and rebounding. Too often Swift is compared to Collins as to whom is the overall better player, but I think we should be focusing on what the team needs from each person instead. So while Swift may be "better" in the sense he'd beat Jason Collins in a game of 1 on 1, a lot of his improvements should be made moot, because that's not what the Nets need out of him. Collins on the other hand was a better post defender, and boxed out (watch Stro and Sean, who just watch the shot in mid air and don't fight for position until it hits the rim), but some of his ineptitudes (offense, FT shooting) made him a liability, too. So in the context of the New Jersey Nets I think Stromile Swift is better at basketball at Jason Collins, yet there is no large overall improvement to this team post-trade.

Like Collins' was asked to be a scorer! Oh my God, and you are right! Hitting two consecutive jumpshots even after bricking most of the others definitely says he has a jumpshot! OMG!

For argument's sake, 90/146 62% right around the rim. Doesn't sound like that great of a jumpshot to me. Look it up for yourself.
fine, you could all ride collins and go to memphis, pray and shout his name to call him back so he could give us that beautiful defence that he gave to the nets. GO COLLINS ! *waiting for stats*
