Four innings into the season for Pedro, and he's done for probably two months. An upsetting injury after seeing him hopping aruond the dugout again in spring training. El Duque needs to be ready to pitch the first day he is eligible to come off the DL. Is there anyone on this team who won't be injured this year? I hope Minaya has a few tricks up his sleeve, as well as money available to add to the payroll, because this team can't miss the playoffs after the disaster last year, and they have to keep up with the Phillies (and possibly the Braves). The names being talked about as potential starters don't sound so nice.

I was figuring that Pedro and El Duque would both miss about a third of the season, but I didn't expect them to both be gone halfway through game 2 of 162.

He's better off with rest anyway.

I just want him healthy for September and October.

The mess & their fans know exactly how crucial Sept & Oct are.

The truth is that the Mets played fine last year without Pedro and he was pitching well when they collapsed.

The pitching staff is better now from top to bottom, so it's no big deal if he misses 6 or 8 starts at the beginning of the year.

I'm more concerned about the offense being consistent.
