<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>WAYCROSS, Ga. -- Eleven students got together and plotted to kill their teacher, even going so far as to bring handcuffs and a knife to school, Waycross police said.

One of the teacher's relatives said each child at Center Elementary School in Waycross had a job to do, including one assigned to wipe up the blood.

The plot unraveled over the weekend when a student tipped off police, Local 6 reported.

School officials said they never imagined that some of the 8- and 9-year-olds boys and girls at the school would think of bringing physical harm to a teacher, WJXT reported.

"A plan had been developed amongst several of our third-grade students to allegedly do harm to their teacher," said Theresa Martin, of Ware County Schools. "It's shocking that they would think of this at their young age. I think that is probably the most shocking part for all of us," Martin said.

In addition to the knife being found, the school officials said other students had duct tape, handcuffs, ribbon and a heavy crystal paperweight.

The police chief in Waycross said that he believes the plan may have been developed because one of the students was punished with some sort of time out. However, that theory remains under investigation.

"I can't believe that -- because he's a third-grader. You know, I cannot believe that. Especially, for here," said parent Doris Rowland.

The children could face expulsion and criminal charges pending the investigation.</div>

Wow. Looks like the kids learned something at school: Teamwork.

Seriously though, that's pretty messed up. Kids this young, plotting to kill a teacher? Disappointing.

I wonder who/what they'll blame this on. Video games, again?

I wonder how f'd up that teacher must be to have more than ten children students plotting his death.

I am utterly speechless.. how twisted has our society become. Unless that teacher was physically abusing the children in some way what is the rational to drive children to such lengths?
if it was happening, their first reaction was not to tell their parents but kill him?
You have to question what messages we as a society are sending out that 9 and 10 year olds not only resort to violence rather than going to their parents but PLOT a death. This wasn't some kid losing his temper and being ultra violent for someone his age, this was a scheme.. a pretty evil scheme at that.
as a new parent, this thought sickens me....
blaming this on video games alone is absurd. Blaming it on the amount of violence in society however makes more sense.

How did all those 8 and 9 year olds come up with such a complex plan to commit a crime? There are some grown adults that couldnt plan a crime like that. Like the guy who robbed a store and left his W2.

If I was that teacher I would just not teach for the rest of my life. I would of had to do something horrible for kids to plot my death.

Kids these days. When I was in third grade, I just thought about what video games I was going to play when I got home (and sadly/awesomely, that hasn't changed all too much.)

Thats seriously messed up! I could understand it if it were 2 or 3 friends trying to plot out this murder but to get 11 KIDS!!! to go through with murder is insane....regardless whether it was 2 or 11 kids there is seriously something wrong with our society if children at that young of an age are thinking of committing such horrible crimes.

That is a lot of cooperation. It's not often that 11 kids will work together to do something that's in class and with encouragement from the teacher.

That's pretty bizzare. When I was in third grade, I only cared about training my Pokemon and collecting all the badges on my Pokemon Blue. I don't think I ever thought of killing anyone, let alone planning a murder
