These are my selections, if I had a vote. 1st Team Chris Paul Kobe Bryant LeBron James Kevin Garnett Dwight Howard 2nd Team Steve Nash Deron Williams Carmelo Anthony Dirk Nowitzki Tim Duncan 3rd Team Allen Iverson Tracy McGrady Paul Pierce Carlos Boozer Yao Ming
Tmac> Deron Chauncey> Deron Pierce>Carmelo Boozer>Dirk Don't forget about Detroit. They're one of the top teams in the league. And Yao shouldn't even qualify. He only played, like, half the season.

All-NBA First Team G: Chris Paul G: Kobe Bryant F: LeBron James F: Kevin Garnett C: Dwight Howard All-NBA Second Team G: Steve Nash G: Allen Iverson F: Paul Pierce F: Amare Stoudemire C: Tim Duncan All-NBA Third Team G: Deron Williams G: Tracy McGrady F: Carmelo Anthony F: Dirk Nowitzki F: Carlos Boozer While Yao was having a terrific year, it's tough for me to put him on there when he only played 55 games.

Deron not only averages more PPG than Chauncey but shoots significantly better from the court, 51% to Chauncey's 45%. He also gets one and a half times more assists per game than Chauncey, 10.5 to 7. That's good enough for third in the league. On top of that, Deron is fourth in the league in double doubles with 50. Billups has just 13. Deron had 200 assists in the month of March, only one other player has racked up 200 assists in a month over the past ten seasons (Steve Nash). Take it from a Jazz fan, D-Will makes the Jazz go. This is evidenced in games where Deron has had 11+ assists, the Jazz have gone 35-6. At the other end, the Jazz went 5-11 in December. Deron had 11+ assists just three times that month. Deron has had the better of the head to head matchups with Chauncey this season, and while the Pistons are a great team, the Jazz are just 3.5 games out of first in the West and are capable of going deep in the playoffs again.

Billups' stats are therefore much better than you think. They're both comparable at the very least. http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2008.html Billups also has a better True Shooting percentage.

Chauncey makes Detroit go. They'd be nowhere without him, and he (and Detroit) deserves some recognition for being so successful.
