If you ask me he plays like Hakeem in a way, Kareem in a way, and Duncan in a way offensively. Defensively he reminds me of a Patrick Ewing limited by the pick n roll yet still effective. Yao plays like Hakeem because they are both agile players, had fine J's and fadeaways, and neither of them would overpower you, but they still hurt you. Rudy T. For my money, there really hasn't been anyone like Yao Ming in the NBA. That doesn't neccesarily mean that he's better or worse than any of the guys you listed above. What I am saying is that he's not the next Kareem or Hakeem or Duncan, but he's the first Yao Ming.
I know but i'm just talking about style of play and terms of skills and all that. There is no next anybody of course i know that.
Yao is kind of a unique specimen, because few guys are his size and have his touch. I'd probably say that he is closer to Tim Duncan that Hakeem.
