The Hornets are only up by 5 with 2:12 in the third left. David West is really the only one clicking right now and is willing his team to victory. He's got 24 and 10 on 11-20 shooting. Peja's also been decent with 15 up to now (5-10, 1-5 from long range). Bonzi wells just missed two free throws too. It looks like the Hornets might have control of this game though, but it is too close to call right now.
OMG The Kings almost choked the win away thanks to Salmons and the stupid 5 second in-bound turnover. Peja almost brought them back but he fails. 94-91 Kings. LAKERS ON TOP!!! HAHA!

Yeah!!!!!! #1 seed baby! I always knew Ron Artest loved us. He's a Laker at heart! Now we control our own destiny. A victory against the Spurs tomorrow should pretty much secure a top 2 seed in my opinion (Ginobli may not play tomorrow). Then we play the Queens to close out the season, and just like last season, I expect us to blow them out in the season finale!
tomorrow's game has HUGE ramifications .. word is Manu is out too. getting #1 is sooo important, not just because of the home court, but because the 2nd round matchup becomes much more winnable because it will be against the winner of the 4/5 series, which looks like Houston/Utah. Getting a 2nd seed just means you'll get the Spurs or Hornets or Phoenix in the 2nd round, which is tough
If we win tomorrow, Kobe secures his MVP. Chris Paul has really hurt his chances these past two games, which poor games and losses against the top two teams in the west. Win this shit, tomorrow!
I'm really confused. Looking at the standing, Houston has a shot of taking first if they win out as well. That would create a 3-way tie between us, NO, and Houston. Does Houston get first then? They have the tiebreaker over us don't they? Why has no one mentioned this? I really hope I just missed something and Houston can't get first now... EDIT: NO and Houston are 2-2 head-to-head. If both teams win out, they'll have the same conference record as well. Does it go to division record next? In which case, NO has a better one. So are division leaders sorted out before the standings are done? The West is so close that this has become incredibly confusing.

The Lakers need to win against the Spurs, and again in their season finale. Houston has a 32-17 conference record, the Hornets have a 33-17 conference record. The Lakers are 35-15.
If the standings stay as-is, the Lakers get the top seed. We'll end with the better conference record.
