Just wondering, Mario is exactly the type of point guard we need on this team. He can shoot the ball, he's not afraid to take the big shots (and make them), and most importantly, he isn't some pussy ass bitch who gets beat defensively every single possession. Assuming he declares this year, where is he projected to get drafted? Is there any slight chance that he may make it to the early second round so we can pick him up? I'm honestly sick and tired of Farmar's antics. I don't know what's gotten into him but he has played like crap for like two months straight. Maybe drafting Mario will land us a future starting point guard, or maybe we can use him as motivation to push Farmar back into his early season form (when we still had Javaris). Either way, something has to be done about the point guard situation. Our point guards are going to get us killed out there in the postseason because neither Fisher nor Farmar can play any lick of defense. If we expect to win a championship anytime soon, we need someone to stop penatration because guys like Chris Paul will be shitting all over us in the postseason.

Btw, we have two second round picks this season. We have the Bobcat's second from the Kareem Rush trade, so that should be pretty high (root for them to get the #1 pick of the draft), and we have our second round pick, which will be near the end of the draft

I agree with this post entirely. :]

As far as the draft is concerned, we'll just have to hope someone slides to us (not like I really care either way though).

just realized Draft Express has him as a PG all the way through
but hes better suited as a combo, but i guess he could work as a true PG, but id use him as a 2nd guard off the bench

Well we don't really need a traditional point guard in the triangle offense. I think he'd fit in just fine

the biggest benefit isn't his offense, as mentioned, its his defense, hes an exceptional on ball and team defender, and if he develops a little more skill slashing, he'll be an NBA player, the most talented player on KU is Arthur, but B-Rush will last the longest because of Defense, Shooting and Unselfishness. Go for B in the draft this year, he'll work very well by Kobe, taking less pressure off him defensively, but really this KU team is sick defensively so either of the 4 guards work on the D end

I like Rush but I don't see how he will be able to contribute to our team next year. When Ariza finally gets healthy, we are stacked at the swingman positions. Chalmers is my #1 choice, and I really hope he falls to us, although it probably doesn't seem likely.

Ariza is a good benefit, but big difference between the two (Rush and Mario) is Rush is more talented offensive and is bigger
    either way its a plus

I thought you guys were already frustrated with PG's that shot too much and didn't pass (Fisher, Farmar).

We need his defense. Fish and Farmar doesn't know what that word means.

Fisher and Farmar's shot selection wouldn't be half as bad if they knew what the word defense meant. It sucks to see them chucking up bricks everytime on offense and then letting opposing point guards burn them time and time again into the paint.

Yea, but that's what I'm saying. Those are two separate problems you got. Chalmers would definitely be an improvement on the defensive side of the ball. But you'd still probably suffer from the same annoyances you have on offense (namely, PG's that don't know where the bread-and-butter of their offense is). I read your game threads occasionally and its always the same complaints about Fisher and Farmar. Chalmers would be more of the same.

i just looked it up, the trade was amended and it is a 2009 2nd round pick. I knew we didn't have two 2nd picks this year

Wait, what? Do you have a link?

Sorry, but I don't understand what you're trying to say...

It doesn't say anywhere that we don't have the Bobcat's second rounder this year.

I tried Googling it but I couldn't find anything. Can you give me a link? Because everything I came up with said the Lakers still have the pick from Charlotte. We only gave up our 2008 and 2010 first round picks, I saw nothing to do with any second round picks, except for the 2010 second we will receive from Memphis. I also couldn't find anything about the Gasol trade being amended either
