<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The 56-year-old Portsmouth Invitational Tournament opens Wednesday in Virginia and Rod Thorn and Kiki Vandeweghe will be among those on hand. Sixty-four seniors, mostly second round prospects, will show their wares in 12 games over four days. Among those hoping for a call in June are Patrick Ewing Jr. of Georgetown, Pat Calathes of St. Joseph's, Chris Daniels of Texas A&M/CC and Gary Forbes of UMass.</div> Players - - Portsmouth Invitational Tournament Portsmouth Invitational: Official Rosters and Preview - Kyle Nelson - Draft Express I know Ewing, Calathes, and Forbes. No thanks on Ewing, maybe on Forbes and Calathes. But I think we could do better. EDIT: Also worth mentioning Jonathan Wallace of GTown, Kentrell Gransberry of SFU, AJ Graves of Butler, Chris Lofton of Tennessee are gonna be there. All of which I'd have interest in.
It doesn't happen often, but a few years ago Jason Maxiell used the PIT to earn himself a first round selection. The biggest problem for the big men in these draft camps is switching to their NBA position and the fact they have to rely upon PG's they've never played with to make them look good on offense.
I watched two St. Joe's games this year, Calathes looked non-existent. I think people get excited because he's pretty mobile for a guy that tall.
i think we need to trade both of our first round picks to the knicks and draft pat calathes with their pick.
