So Kiki mentioned going after fallen Angel type players. Does Emeka Okafor qualify? Should we even be interested? Last summer it was rumored that he wanted Dwight type money, but I think it became evident this season he is not that kind of player. He's obviously a 14/10/2 type of player that has a history of injuries.

Would you want him now and what you be willing to give up for him? Is he much better than Boone at this stage?

Aside from sign & trades I think Okafor, Nene, Wilcox, and possibly Odom are the only bigs I see being potentially obtainable via a trade.

Boone is a lesser version of Okafor right now. So why waste the big bucks $$ om him? I welcome him if he doesnt want a lot of money.
Id give up Curly and marcus or something.

How is he a fallen angel when he is still overrated?

As for the Boone comparison, Okafor is much better defender (man and weakside) than Boone, but Boone would put up similar PPG and RPG stats since the Bobcats are such a mess.

Okefor still has room to improve. Hes on a shitty team that doesn't really seem like it has a direction. If Okefor was on the nets i actually think that might help him improve because he would be the main big man there. Also, he needs a low post coach to teach him how to post up and make consistant moves.

He's the only big man option on the Bobcats! They went and took on Nazr's horrible deal because they were not happy with their limited big men options.

He's had every opportunity to be the guy in Charlotte.

Is he still overrated or is he a fallen angel? I guess that's the question I'm asking. After being health for a full season on a team with a good outside player like Richardson, has the rose finally fallen off the bloom?

If he's still overrated, screw it. If he's not overrated, is he even worth pursuing, and if so, at what cost?

I said from day one this guy was overrated and that Dwight would rise as the better player and three years later all I can do is just be amazed that Emeka feels he deserves Dwight Howard money but doesn't put up the numbers.

I remember people listing him as a top 10 PF before he even played an NBA game

Okafor may leave as a free agent in a couple of years, but Michael Jordan will never trade him. Him and Gerald Wallace are the building block for the future. The bobcats are looking to improve their big men, not get rid of them.

I don't think Okafor qualifies as a "fallen angel" under Kiki's definition. Gerald Green is more like it. J.R. Smith was until recently. Kareem Rush? Kwame Brown? (He can defend).
