Good to see Brand back and the Warriors scoring 42 to 26 in the first quarter. Great shot selection (66% fg), except for the last two possessions which looked more like heatcheck type of shots. I don't mind guys launching if they're trying to check their own temperature. It's like for anyone's who played those games where you can't miss, you take anything because you're in the zone. I don't know if we can keep this fg% up in the next 3 quarters... the clips also happening to be shooting pretty well so they could climb back in it. I bet a beating like this will cause the other team to zone up on us because if we know what's going on with our team, then so does the other coach. If this happens, I hope Nelly urges Baron Davis and Monta Ellis to attack the zone rather than settle for the 3. Then Harrington or Sjax can step in and come to help before the passing lanes close up on the draw and kickout. --- Baron's decision making looks a lot better this game.
Marco Belinelli played pretty well tonight. He's important for this team. He's the possible spark of the bench that this team needs. I hope he gets similar PT in the remaining games of the season. Also I like the Pietrus spark as well. He's helping the team's defense and energy level I think. I thought Nelson was playing the reserves too much when the Clippers were coming back, especially with Baron on the bench for a long stretch. And gosh how much I hate it when Croshere comes in the game. But otherwise the Warriors won this important game and are now tied with the Nuggets. It's playoff time for the Warriors. Win or go home. I was watching the game down here in Long Beach on the Clippers station and they did make an interesting note about how Marco was Nelson's decision to be the team's starting SG before the season started. I had forgotten about that. Also they made the remarks about how fatigued the starters looked during the Denver game and even during tonight's game. So perhaps it was good that Nelson played the reserves so much, even Patrick O'Bryant (dang he's tall and long just like Wright but a bit buffer but much less fluid or smooth at least).
