<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (soul driver @ Apr 13 2008, 06:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>thron may have confused the steam from sean's hot shower with something else.</div> bokibokibokiboki Sean's 2nd half of the season has been disappointing, but he's shown flashes of greatness. He's farther a long offensively than anyone could have guessed pre-draft, and I certainly had no idea that his shotblocking ability would translate as well as it has. His first start against a Shaq-lead Miami Heat was a 20/8/2(block)/2(steal) game. Later in the season he got himself a Nets rookie record with blocked shots in a game. It's obvious that what's holding him back is a lack of basketball experience (which holds both physical and mental conclusions) and not a lack of talent. I don't understand how the beat writers report that Sean might not be untradable because he won't be ready for a couple of years. Well ok, but what championship do the Nets plan on winning anytime soon? Save Carter and DA we're one of the youngest teams in the league and its very probable that we're going to trade away our leaders in Vince and RJ. Sean is a work in progress but given his age and the state of the team he's on I think its a perfect match.
Sean's first start was the game he had the tip in dunk in the late stages of game to tie the game for Nets? He also had that game saving block against the Clippers. Since the sophomore rookie challenge can't think of anything else he did that was noticeable or something to look for in the future. Boone and Williams need to hit the gym the entire off season. How about getting a guy like Kareem or Ewing to help out our bigs down low.

please get rid of: Krstic - his type of center is finished in this league. dump him. he is soft and has lost all of his low post game. no defense and is slow to guard the basket. hassel - dont need him and his offense is terrible boki- unless he resigns for low ball money. dude is a good player 40 out of 82 games if that many. m will - too slow and reserved. we need a killer pg off the bench someone who acts like they want to be in the game. frank - do i even need to go into it?

Last season we had House and when Boki wasn't hitting he was and vice versa. He was totally exposed without somone else to pick up for him on off days. Every shooter has them, they just usually have teammates to make up for it. If we could get Boki back relatively cheap and add another shooter to the bench then we will really be better.
lol singing in the shower ? thats why hes not playing.... hes a Goofy guy who just seems like a tough person and ppl need to accept that. look a shaq sizzle, hes goofy too but his coaches play him. btw, he needs more playing time before he ends up like marcus in season 2. and the nets Do Not want that. marcus out, nenad out, rj out, josh keep him. isnt that enough to get an all star in our team ???

Ever since Stro was brought here he's been compared to an advanced version of Sean. Even the anouncers talk about it during the games. I didn't say that's the best Sean could be, I clearly said Sean's ceiling is way higher.
I think "advanced" is the wrong word. "Worst Case Scenario" is more like it. But, by all means, who could be a better mentor for a young player than Stromile Swift?
Maybe advanced was the wrong word. I ment more toward the lines of older and more veteran version of Sean athletic wise. They both have the same athleticism and size. Stro is stronger and Sean definately needs to get into the gym along with Boone. Once again, Sean's ceiling is way higher than what Stromile is tho.

Swift is still a knucklehead though and has reached his ceiling. At this point Sean's floor is slightly below Stro's max. However, I don't think Swift is a good mentor at all with his lackadaisical approach to everything.

He's done all his convincing with his terrible career to this point.
i love how some of you are so high on sean "smokey" williams yet insist on calling swift a knucklehead every time you get a chance. and i see what J-Hoagz is saying.. at this point swift is a more skilled and experienced version of williams. that doesn't mean williams won't become the better player in the future.
Stro and Sean are definitely similar. At this point Stro is a more complete player, but he's like 7 years older, and he's not really improved much since coming into the league. I actually think the Nets would be smart to keep him, if he gets the minutes he could be a decent bench player, but if they aren't going to play him, they should get rid of him. William's second half has been a big disappointment, mainly because of foul trouble and fatigue, which is on him, and lack of opportunity, which is on Frank. I think Sean's ceiling is probably as a guy who can give you 16 and 10 with 3 blocks a game. He's not going to be a consistent 18-20 point scorer, but he can be an effective PF. He's more comparable to Chris Wilcox or a shorter version of Sam Dalembert. I think he can become a good shooter if he works at it, he's got nice touch. We can speculate, but it depends how much he works at it. Like Stro, the talent isn't the question, it's desire and smarts.
I have no idea what Sean Williams will become. He has a lot of work to do. Whatever it is, though, I hope to hell it's not Stromile Swift.
