So i was kinda bored just now and decided to watch some YouTube videos of Stro and it got me thinking that that athletically, even though not physically or energy wise, he could be like Kenyon. Every clip was some crazy put back dunk or alley oop and if he plays in a lineup (assuming these players are all back) with RJ, Vince and Devin..hell prob be the 4th or 5th option other teams think about and if he plays smart and follows shots, runs the floor and roams baseline for alley oops, he really could be effective. I know hes basically been a waste of athleticism his whole career and not very smart, but in a good system and given a real chance, does anyone else think he could be a good piece for us?

Nope. Stro wouldn't shine with most coach's systems, and I doubt Frank's is the one he would flourish in.
What I don't get is how Stro managed to pick up four assists while a member of the Nets. Four! I wouldn't have guessed it was more than two.

The rise of Salvadoran drug gangs like MS-13? What about overfishing off the Grand Banks? Frank's fault? Global warming? Check. Subprime mortgage mess? Check. He does look like Bush, don't ya think? Has anyone checked his phone records for calls to the tribal areas of Pakistan? Bet not. Good God, Stromile Swift has sucked under all manner of coaches: Sidney Lowe, Hubie Brown, Mike Fratello, Jeff Van Gundy, Marc Iavaroni and Lawrence Frank. Fast break coaches, defensive coaches, old coaches, young coaches, veteran coaches, neophytes, Jersey guys, non-Jersey guys (although Jersey guys do predominate). Give it up. It's beyond tiresome. It is banal and diminishes the level of discourse.

It'd take someone special to make him fit in. Really, really special. Not sure Frank fits that.
so you guys don't think swift has played well in his limited minutes with the nets? i think he's played well far more often than he's played poorly. he's not racking up the points every night because he doesn't get many touches, but he's bringing energy, finishing in the paint, and playing pretty good d. he's not making a million mistakes every game like some people thought he would. he went through a long stint in the dog house and it didn't appear to affect his attitude. so what do you guys not like about what he's done so far with the nets?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetIncome @ Apr 13 2008, 10:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>It . . . diminishes the level of discourse.</div> At this point, I believe that is nigh impossible here.

Stro isnt playing bad, he is playing decent. However, he is overpaid.

I like Stromile and I think he can bring good energy off the bench. Maybe we could have our own version of Detroit's "Zoo Crew" next year if we can get rid of Marcus and bring in an energy PG. Energy PG, Ager, Nachbar, Sean, Stromile. That could provide some energy. I really hope the Nets FO cuts their nice lil relationship with Frank. IMO Frank's really not a bad coach, it's just he doesn't have the respect of the players and never really did in the first place. We need to either bring in a veteran coach or a someone who's been in the league before (Mark Jackson).
Stro has been pretty good. He can be a good bench player for us. I just like that he attacks the basket every chance he gets. His jumper is decent, his D is pretty good. Can be a solid rotation player.
