Even though the way he treated the Nets near the end was messed up, he deserves to win. So does Mark Cuban, Jerry Stackhouse, Eddie Jones, Juwan Howard. And if Dirk loses again, I fear he will kill himself. I love the Hornets, but I don't like Byron Scott. On my 15th birthday, I went to a summer league game in Boston to see LeBron James. The Nets played earlier that day and Scott was there watching the Nets summer roster and I went over and asked him for an autograph. He said to hold on a second, as he was talking to someone. I admit it was rude, but I was 15 and excited to see my favorite team's coach. Once he was done talking to the guy, I asked him again. Then he reamed me out for being rude and interrupting him and he refused to give me an autograph. He's a ****ing dick. Later that day I met LeBron James and he cheered me up. But Byron Scott is a dick.</div> A lot of NBA players/coaches are brats like that. Phil Jackson has done much worse things but that's just human nature over there. Don't take it personally, practically everyone you like in professional sports is actually an asshole. I think Scott received superfluous blame but I don't care about either of them on a team-level.
Scott all the way, I want Kidd to experience nothing but failure in his attempt at getting a title after quiting on us like he did.

Kidd's gonna have whiplash by the end of this series with him blowing by him every trip down the floor.

I'm convinced that anyone who is voting for Byron Scott are probably younger fans who did not watch any Nets games between 2000 and 2003.</div> Yea I mean look at him now. He has a team of young players who finish second in the tough as nail western conference. He actually have players who trust him. He is able to make tough decisions and ship out people who do not agree with his formula. (J.R. Smith) His team has been improving year after year. How have the Nets been since Scott is no longer there? Now I'm not giving him sole credit for the nets success but to say he is horrible coach you are totally ignoring what is happening in the city Lil Wayne calls home. Plus the whole reason he is no longer there because they said the players no longer responded to him but L Frank still has job?? Anyway the Nets put their faith in a player who jumped shipped once he was tired. Scott went from Kidd to Paul. Paul in his third year has his team sitting at number 2 and is MVP bound. Kidd did Scott a favor. Also you don't think Scott is not enjoying his young pupil destroy Kidd on the court? He who laughs last. Remember laughs best.

someone explain to me how scott is a bad coach?? i still dont get that. he is 100X better than frank.
An interesting sidebar to the potential Hornets-Mavs first-round matchup: It would be the first time Jason Kidd faces Byron Scott, his former coach in New Jersey, in a playoff series. "You know Byron is dying for a piece of Jason in that series," one of Kidd's former Nets teammates said. "You know he wants to beat Jason real bad." sounds like rj^^^
I hate both teams. I want to see an earthquake where ever they play and for the ceiling of the building/arena to drop on the both teams, and... Mark Cuban. -Petey
scott has improved tremendously as a coach. first of all, he stopped being lazy, here he had eddie jordan, in NO, he realizes he's the guy. second, he led depleted hornets teams close to the playoffs starting guys like pargo and mason for some time years ago. hell, we had vince and kidd and barely had a better record then them last year in a weak east. third, no one, and i mean no one, expected NO to come close to 60 wins this year. thats takes some good, consistent coaching. meanwhile, our players laugh at our mighty midget.
No question, Jason Kidd. The guy deserves to win. Again, Jason Kidd didn't quit on the Nets. It was a situation where a breakup was long overdue. Thorn held on to Kidd for the wrong reasons. The situation in Jersey was a lot worse than people think. It's easy to point the finger on Kidd. Thorn did a good job on that. Jason Kidd wanted to be retire a Net. A lot of you forgot about that. Jason Kidd quit on Thorn... not the Nets. There's a big difference there. Think about it.

I don't see how Kidd boycotted games. His heart might not have been in it, but he was still putting up his normal numbers. In Carter's final season with the Raps, he was averaging around 15 ppg, until he got traded to Jersey where he magically started putting up 25 ppg in the same season.

Non sequitor, my friend. Kidd's effort this past year in Jersey is nothing compared to how he's playing now. As for boycotting games, you don't remember his migrane?
