<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Personally, I believe Bosh is one of the tougher players the Raptors have … in that he does go down low; he is one of the few guys that rebounds the basketball; and despite constant double and triple teams … he still manages to put up 20-25-30 points each night and burn defenders with his versatility time and time again.

But does the team need to get tougher? Yes. So, chalk one up for Stephen A. (or at least … half of one).

However, his second comment - about Bosh’s hair and his figure - is completely bogus and out of line.</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'll start this blog off by expressing my disappointment in Stephen A. Smith. I was watching ESPN earlier today and they were breaking down each and every playoff match-up like they do every year. When our time came up, he began to criticize us like I knew he would, but criticism never bothers me. What bothered me is that he made certain personal comments towards me. His remarks were not funny and I don't understand why he would say something like that about me. My friends that watched it thought that I had done something to him or said something about him in the past. The thing that bothers me most is that every time I see him, I say hello and shake his hand. The comments he made had nothing to do with basketball and I feel that he has something agaisnt me and that really makes me upset. That just goes to show you that some people will forget about mutual respect and try and bring you down (even if you haven't done anything to them) just for some attention.</div>

I've always had a lot of respect for Eric Smith. And he responded to Stephen A.'s idiocy pretty intelligently.

As for Stephen A., that ESPN gig is really the only thing preventing him from fading into obscurity. He's lost his job at the Inquirer (for halfassing articles), he lost his show (because of how crappy it was), and nobody takes him seriously anymore. If ESPN wasn't so desperate to replicate the "Charles Barkley type" in their NBA broadcasts, he'd lose that job too.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It's playoff time. Always my favorite time of the year. And despite Isiah Thomas' firing by the New York Knicks -- which left me working about 13 hours non-stop on every-and-all things ESPN, it personified Heaven for me. Being a part of the action. Reporting. Getting my information from the sources themselves, then pontificating in a fashion I enjoy best, which is to say straight-forward, informative and in-your-face.
I even took time out to have some fun, joking around with my colleague, Jalen Rose, about the Toronto Raptors' playoff series vs. the Orlando Magic on ESPN's NBA Shootaround show. When Jalen talked about Bosh needing to toughen up, I said, "It's too late for all of that. He's Manute Bol with short dreds" -- alluding to Bosh' slim physique. That's all I was doing. I swear.
Unfortunately, Bosh took it personally and, from what I've heard (I haven't seen it yet) called me out on his website.
For the record, I'll take whatever he says. I'm a genuine fan of Chris Bosh, from my personal interaction with him to all the wonderful things I've heard about him from coach Sam Mitchell and President/GM Bryan Colangelo. I think he's a phenonmenal young player and one of the most humble people I've ever known in the NBA. I was just having fun and didn't mean to offend him in anyway.
    Sorry Chris!
Now get over it and let's get back to talking about the playoffs.</div>
