Why all the hate on Krstic? Before his injury he was seen as probably the lone bright spot on the Nets. He gets an injury that is one of the most devastating in the NBA and is trying to come back. Hell, as he said, normal recovery takes up to 18 months. And it's not like he was a perennial All-Star before the injury. He was a good player on a team with a thin front court. He comes back when the team went through hell, and is trying to get into the playoffs. He gets sent home because he came back too early and wasn't ready for the game. If he can keep from re injuring his legs this upcoming season, he could add significantly to NJ offense. He's also only 24.

Those are dime a dozen. J.J. Redick can score but he can't play defense. That is the reason he has been on the back of milk cartons. Krstic is a good scoring but when you have players like Haslem and other players smaller than him bulling him in the paint it doesn't speak well. So if any team wants to over pay for a player who doesn't improve on d will be just another bench player who had promise go ahead. Yea he is coming back from an injury but he has not shown no reason why the nets should invest in him and say he is our future.

If he can get back to form he will help the Nets. That's worth taking a chance on a two or three year deal at $3 or 4 million per year. I think some of the haters have delusions about their own significance. They think that their criticism is tough love that will force Krstic to realize he needs to work harder and become a better player. They think the more they trash him here on the Internet the more motivated he will become.

Pretty much the only way to 'prove' it would be if the player was involved in a fight. And even that method is severely flawed because it highlights the player's lack of intelligence more than his guts. For example, Carmelo was involved in a fight. Is he still a pussy? Hell yeah. On the other hand, take David Robinson. The man wasn't involved in a fight ever, and is as model of a citizen as you can ever imagine. Want to call him a pussy? There are no "facts". Pre-injury, Krstic was a Chris Bosh light. But unlike on Raptors, he was never asked to carry the main offensive load as Bosh is. Bosh will continue failing because he's mostly a jump shooting big man who's the #1 option on offense. Krstic, if he comes back healthy, can easily become the Nets' 3rd best player because he will be the 2nd or 3rd option on offense and never the first. There's no way I'll give him a contract that's more than $4-5M and for more than 2, maybe 3 years. He's coming back from injury. He sounds like he's eager to prove himself. He should seriously think about accepting a 2 year deal at medium money. In 2 years if he works for it, he can establish himself as a great player (20-9?), and then he can actually command near max/max money.
