Toronto's Sam Mitchell could be coaching for his job once again this spring when the Raptors take on the Magic in their first-round playoff series, according the SLAM! Sports.

Many people expect Orlando to eliminate Toronto, but if the Raptors go down without much of a fight there is a good chance that Mitchell will suffer the consequences.

Bryan Colangelo is known as an impatient general manager and it's doubtful that he'd tolerate back-to-back first round exits.</div>

    good luck Sam

If we get knocked out of the first round this season as well without a good fight I would expect Mitchell being gone. So far it hasnt been to good for the Raptors halfway through game 1 but im still optimistic we could fight back and steal this game.

He did a horrible job today. Toronto's defense was HORRIBLE. Watching the Raptors get dominated was like watching Detroit destroy Orlando last season in the first round. The Magic just want to end this series so they can face some real competition and Toronto knows they don't stand a chance.

A Toronto team with an actual defensive strategy? Man, that'd be sweet.

With JVG the Raps would score 90 pgg on average lol. I don't know if the Raps would have enough defensive pieces to make JVG happy.

very good point, he would kill Jose and TJ, but maybe hed like Ukic when he comes over, but JVG would LOVE Rasho, and Parker

Eventually we have to make a commitment to a certain team philosophy. Our current roster and coach really haven't done that. We have players who could run both a half-court, grinding style (Jose, Rasho) or an up-tempo style (TJ, Delfino, Jamario), an isolation-based offense (Bosh, Bargnani) or a spread 'em out offense (Parker, Kapono). But it seems like we aren't really committed to any of those styles and tend to react to the style of our opponent.

JVG, or any other coach for that matter, would at least give some consistency in that respect. We'd probably take a dip in our scoring, but I think our roster has enough offensive talent to the point that only an idiot could make it a liability.

the way we shoot jump shots a dip in scoring and an increase at the defense end can only be a benefit
