Thanks to the Blue Jays, who can't score runs by the way, for releasing Reed Johnson before the season....hes been a nice addition in Chicago, hitting .346, playing a great centerfield, and adding speed to the team in the field and at the plate....hes holding down the fort while Pie continues to develop and even if he eventually loses the job to Felix, he can play all 3 outfield positions well and will be a great bench piece at a minimum....I wonder who will be thanking Toronto for Frank Thomas in a few months....

Toronto releasing Reed Johnson was a big mistake in my opinion because although I like Stewart, Johnson is by far a better baseball player. Frank Thomas though I dont think many Blue Jay fans and management will miss, he was hitting below .200 and if he would of had 300 more AB he would have been awarded a guaranteed contract for next season paying over 10mil so really this was a way to shave off money for next season because the Big Hurt was definitely not playing well. Also on a side note by releasing Thomas this allows the Jays to play Matt Stairs at the DH position which he has been playing very well lately at the plate and also Stewart at LF.

So in summary, yeah we should have kept Johnson but I dont think anyone is going to be rolling in their sleep over Frank "THE BIG HURT" Thomas.

All fair points, but Frank Thomas is a slow starter and has been for some time....if he goes off and hits .280 and 25 hrs for a team that bumps Toronto out of the playoffs, I guarantee that team will be thanking the Jays for the offense....
