I wouldn't mind this signing at all. SD is used to a big, strong back up RB and with Michael Turner now in Atlanta, this would make sense.
I'm not trying to say that I'm like a prophet or some shit, but I never bought into the Alexander hype. I always thought he was overrated and the product of a good offensive line.
So did I to a certain extent. Hutchinson and Jones anchored one helluva line. But I never would've thought he'd fall off this badly.

Also, this is a team sport, so every running back owes their positive yardage to the front 5. In team sports, its not as simple as just saying "they made a hole that I can drive a truck through", because there are so many people involved in making that happen....and have the synchronicity to hit that hole before the split second that it closes right back up. If Denver's line play is/was so great, and the RB's are just good because they are, then why haven't we seen another Terrell Davis leap off your TV screen with a Broncos jersey on? After all, he's just a product of their system, right? The Broncos could have just as easily traded Davis to the Redskins (as they did with Portis) and run the ball exactly the same way, right? Wrong. Terrell Davis was the difference, and that's why they won 2 superbowls with him carrying the ball. John Elway sure as hell wasn't going to do it on his passing, and he was so close to retiring without a championship. NFL running backs are special, and they dont last very long. When you have a good one, everyone knows. Those that don't are just playing themselves.
Gotta agree for the most part w/ ROTR about RB's. The exception being look @ how Ronnie Brown was doing last year before he was injured and To say the phins had an average line last year isbeing generous. Marino is a prime example of how you need a quality RB to get the ring. Quality RB's are hard to find. Miami should feel fortunate provided Ricky can pull his head out of the Doritos bag and Ronnie is fully recovered. The only thing we can safely say about Denver's OL was their tactics were at best questionable.

I always thought that Naanee guy was a pretty good backup for SD. I guess you can never have enough depth. Now all it comes down to is how much you pay a former MVP.
Naanee? He's a backup WR/TE. Last I heard, they were grooming him to be an Antonio Gates type player. Are you thinking of Darren Sproles? Isn't Kevin Jones still out there? If he can get healthy, I'd take him in a heartbeat.
His Yards per rush is disgusting, and he's missed 9 games the last two years. Good luck in SD though.
