<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>When we look back at the 2007-08 season, there’s not much that we’ll want to remember. And when looking at how each player performed, there are more negatives than positives. But we can say that Josh Boone was one of the positives. His development into a solid role player, averaging 9.7 points and 8.4 boards since becoming a rotation regular in early December, was a pleasant surprise.</div> No Joshin’ - Matt McQueeny - New Jersey Nets Josh Boone Interview Transcript - Matt McQueeny - New Jersey Nets I wanna see development. No injuries this offseason, just a whole lot of practicing his post offense, and bulking up.
im prolly in the minority but i wasn't THAT impressed with him this year. he was doing the same things last year before the playoffs, it would impress me if he developed a consistent jumpshot or post move and he had some good rebounding numbers but often he would get killed inside the paint
If I thought his ankles and knees could take more weight I'd say bulk up, but I think he sould focus on a short jumper and some post moves.

I'm not sure how much of a post game he can develop at this point, since he never had one, but I would like him to have a reliable jump shot. I want Mikki Moore-type efficiency from the field! And on a related note, get his FT shooting to 75%.

It should improve his FT% and maybe give him a semi-reliable short jumper. His general shooting is just terrible. It makes him soft sometimes, because he's afraid of getting fouled. Getting better at shooting should boost his confidence.
I don't think we need Boone to become a scorer. His PPG average was perfect the way it is. What we need from him is an average FT% and better rebounding numbers.
He needs to get healthy, bulk up, and learn to hit his free throws. The outside jumper and post moves should be on the backburner if the other team is just going to foul him intentionally anyways. If Diop is going to sign somewhere else like a lot of people suggest, Boone is going to have even more of a defensive responsibility.
Was very pleased with his season. He obviously needs improvement in all offensive areas, starting with free throws. If I'm the Nets, I offer him a personal trainer/shooting coach to work with him at least 3 months this offseason at FT shooting and midrange jumper shooting. But don't stop there. His relatively wide/strong base suggests he might be best served in his career trying to work intensely on a few low post moves, including a jump hook and up-and-under. I would make him watch tapes of Kevin McHale everyday in the offseason. He's a smart player, and with ample use of fakes and positioning -- and belief that he can actually capitalize at the FT line -- he might be able to develop into a low post threat. He, along with Krstic, are really the biggest keys to next season, as the Nets are extremely unlikely to be able to land an immediate impact big man through the draft or free agency.
He needs to spend some time with a ball room dancing instructor to learn how to move his feat better. The way the Nets are currently constructed, they really need Boone to be able to step out on switches and to guard outside-in PF's
