Eventually, the truth comes out and I finally figured out why the Vikings would be so eager to trade their top pick....in the past, the Vikings have struggled to make a decision during their alloted 15 minutes of time, and when they found out this week that they would only have 10 minutes, they knew they had no shot of pulling that off so they bailed....look for the Vikings to trade all 1st round picks going forward as long as the time is reduced

Hmmm. I thought they were trying to get rid of their picks because this weekend should be good love boating weather.

your point brings up an interesting issue for me....Isnt Wilf supposed to be such a strong advocate of high charachter guys? Seems like he threw a fit after he bought the team and now hes trading away 3 high picks for an alcoholic whos one incident away from a year long suspension, and rewarding him with $70million....i guess he likes charachter, but he likes a sack a game a little more....

Funny how a season of mediocrity cured Wilf of his quixotic quest...There is no way to balance character & results IMO.

For every Zach Thomas, there are at least 2 Matt Roth's, 3 Marcus Vicks, & a sh**load of prima donnas (How many WR's are there total in the NFL? lol.). Ron Mexico, Pacman, etc... are fortunately few & far between in the NFL.

As I've said before, the jails would be a lot more crowded if it weren't for athletics (the NBA at least). rofl?

I will say this about Jared Allen. The remarks he made, in an interview I saw on TV, did make it seem like he had seen the light. He hasn't been in trouble since he has been back and I haven't heard any rumors that he has been flirting with trouble. Still, less than a year is a short time to really know if Jared is sincere or just trying to say what others want to hear, but the Vikings have had some success with an athlete that did turn his life around, Cris Carter.

Im all for giving guys 2nd chances, as I do believe when you hand a kid 7 figures, some fame, and some high praise, they are prone to let it get away from them a bit, so my issues isnt with Allen who looks like hes getting his life back in order and taking his disease seriously....my issues is with Wulf, who made such a fuss over charachter and then traded away half a draft for a guy whos had DUI's and been suspended for it....in my opinion, theres two distinct groups on NFL personel, those who will admit that talent trumps all concenrns, even charachter flags, and those that lie about it....

I just want to thank the Vikings for trading for Jared Allen & allowing to a degree Merling to slip.

Thats true, while it hurt the market for JT, Merling doesnt fall to Miami without this trade....Id also like to thank Jacksonville for reaching on D. Harvey, that contributed to Merling casting spells in Miami too

I can't believe JAX couldn't bring themselves to deal for Taylor. They already have a playoff caliber team, and only need to add a couple of pieces. They could have used one of those D lineman picks for something else. Seemed so wasteful watching them trade up like that.
