I've noticed that every fanbase seems to think that they're among the loudest and enthusiastic. So I was wondering if it was possible to come to some sort of objective consensus. In this thread, rank the hometown crowds of each of the playoffs teams, according to which are more boisterous and provide a better homecourt advantage. Try your best to be objective. We've only seen one side so far this year, so people might want to wait to see the Game 3's and 4's before ranking the crowds (that's what I'm going to do). Of course, most of these teams have been in here before, so if you've got a good memory go ahead and rank anyways.
actually i ask my friend, hes doing a school project on team attendance and team records and seeing the correlation and stuff like that, ill see what he came up with, from his findings

Loudest homecourts that come to mind immediately; Golden State, Detroit, Sacramento, and Utah (in no order). IMO those are the most consistently intimidating and dedicated fan bases. San Antonio is also really really good but their fans aren't as nutso as the previously mentioned teams. Staples is really damn loud and always packed but they aren't as "boisterous" and intimidating as the 4 previously mentioned. I would also put Phoenix in that secondary echelon of having good, enthusiastic fans who aren't as smart/dedicated/tenacious as the top 4. Cleveland is another one where theres a lot of fans and they make noise but they aren't really exceptional. Toronto seems to have a pretty dedicated fan base but I don't think they're very loud or boisterous. MSG is pretty good still despite the team being in disarray, I'm sure that if the team gets back to relevancy they'll prove that they're a pretty damn good homecourt. Portland was good this year when the team was good but where the hell were they when the team was crap? They even toned it down as the Blazers fell out of the PO picture. Not much dedication there. Same with Miami, fans only showed up when the team was good. Dallas is worth a mention as a tough place to play though they're nothing too special. Chicago can also be tough too. How about Boston as far and away the most overrated? Bill Simmons will tell you that the Boston Garden is still houses as loud, boisterous, and intelligent fans as there are in the league but they've been pretty damn flat from what I've seen in their games against Atlanta. Seems like when the games are still relatively close (within 10 pts) the fans just sit on their asses and have zero enthusiasm. It seems like they are only really happy to be there when the team is up 20 and Garnett and Glenn Davis are running around chest pumping and screaming like damn fools. Why aren't they on their feet cheering from the tip until the final buzzer? Why can't they start their own chants? Why do they refuse to get off their feet for anything short of a KG dunk? They aren't even close to Detroit, Sac, Utah, or GS. Hell they're not even close to LAL, SA, or PHX. Granted, with any team that rises from obscurity into glory you're going to get a ton of bandwagoners who don't really care about the team but just go because its the cool place to be.
LOL at the Toronto Maple Leafs at 121 only ahead of the Knicks!! Oh how I still love the Leafs......Raptors FTW!! If you have NBATV or are watching the Orlando v Toronto game today the crowd is going to be going nuts so it should be fun to watch.

Just watch for when we play Cleveland, Detroit or LA if we are able to advance that far. A ton of fans of other teams just yell because it's cool when they don't even know the players they're cheering for. The Boston fans in this series are just taking it in slowly what we have. We like to watch the basketball too ya know rather than mindlessly screaming like little girls the entire game. It will be much louder when the other teams are actually able to compete within 15 points of us. It's kinda hard to get yourself up and yell as loud as you can when you're winning by 20-25 the entire game unless your team is the underdog. When you're supposed to win it's like yawn get the next round started eh?
I've never seen anything like Golden State's home crowd in the playoffs last year. At least in the NBA.

From what I've seen and heard, the Warriors, Pistons, Raptors and Kings have some pretty good fans out in the seats.
Golden State as number one is a given, IMO. But I wanted to talk about the teams in playoffs. Part of the reason I created this thread is because I noticed a lot of fans talking about how loud their homecourt was, when I thought the exact opposite (Orlando and Boston, in particular). If anyone's watching the Toronto/Orlando game right now, what do you think of Toronto's crowd? I've always thought we're right up at the top level. Just ask VC. Oh, and most NBA crowds can't compare to Euroleague ones. Those places get loud and never really die down during the course of a game.

I wish more Magic fans were crazy and passionate about the team. Golden State is just ridiculous, I'd put them first.

Its ok though because Boston is going to get it handed to them by whoever comes out of the west. Just like the Pats.
