I don't even think it's a particularly important political issue. But I still think what Rick Monday did and how people reacted to it was something all Americans can be proud of. To me, it's one of the most memorable and uplifting moments in baseball history.
How did they get to left field, had time to put lighter fluid on it, and strike 2 matches? I dont think you could make it to the playing surface nowaday's Except in Chicago.
