I don't know what to say about Curly. I love the dude but I just don't feel comfortable with him in the long term, so injury prone.

He was a headache. Injuries, confidence...it's annoying. You're a pro basketball player. No more excuses.

He had his moments, but overall he was a failure. Of course its important to consider if his failures were because of his inability, or by our medical staff/front office in bringing him back early.

C-, because INC wasn't an option. Next year is what counts.

    Bingo.
Coming back from ACL after 10 months was just stupid.

If this wasn't his walk year, he would have waited and gotten healthy before getting back on the court.

As it turned out, he sank his season and the Nets' before it even started.

I gave him a C, because he played terribly, but in a contract year, so there's a chance we might get him signed long-term for cheap.

Plus I like him. He's like the goofy foreign guy on Perfect Strangers. Who doesn't love that guy?!

I fear the worst this summer. The potential for miscalculation is enormous. The Kidd trade turns out to have been better than any of us could have hoped (hell, even the draft is looking good) but with so much riding on that two weeks between June 26 and July 9, and Thorn's record with free agency, I worry.

Well we're in good hands IMO. i know his history of FA signings isnt something to brag about, but maybe he'll ride the momentum we have at making deals. Thats our only hope. [IMG]

Non sequitor to the highest degree. What "momentum" is there? Please. I don't see how you can make up some abstract concept and then say you're confident that you're in good hands. There's so much potential this offseason, and so just as many opportunities to F it up. I'm hardly hopeful, I just hope we don't soil it too badly.

and Rod Thorn gets some sort of bonus from the NBA because of it? You think its going to raise his self confidence till he's pleased as punch and thats going to make a difference on the quality of deals he does? C'mon dude.

Hey I've been a long-standing Nets optimist myself, but there are somethings that can give a realistic chance of hope, and things that can give a reasonable chance of hope. If Rod Thorn was really that emotionally fragile that public approval of his Kidd trade decided how well he signed FA that summer...well that's reason enough to make me a pessimist for life!
