    Feyenoord Rotterdam win Dutch Cup

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Feyenoord Rotterdam have won the 2007-08 edition of the Dutch Cup, beating Roda JC 2-0 in the final on Sunday.

The 45,000 spectators at De Kuip stadium of Rotterdam, the usual venue of the KNVB Beker final, saw how Danny Landzaat opened the score from close range after only eight minutes.

A strong individual action of Jonathan de Guzman doubled the lead in the 36th minute, and Roda never managed to get back into the match.

The trophy comes at a good moment for Feyenoord, who finished their centennial year in a disappointing sixth place. It is also the first tournament victory since the UEFA Cup in 2002.

For Feyenoord manager Bert van Marwijk, it was his last match at the Rotterdam-based team. Van Marwijk will be replacing Marco van Basten as Dutch national team coach after the European championships this summer.

Feyenoord won the cup ten times before, the last being in 1995.</div>

I can't say I'm not surprised. I'm sure Ajax or PSV were most people's choices to win the cup before the season began. Nicely done, Feyenoord.

I respect Feyenoord. They're the most traditional Dutch club to date with the most rabid fanbase in the country. Not to mention one hell of a stadium. With all that, remember that they are celebrating their centenary this year.

    Snazzy!
