    WR Danny Amendola
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Cowboys didn't draft a receiver, but they have added at least one through college free agency - Texas Tech's Danny Amendola.

He had 109 catches for 1,245 yards and six touchdowns for the Red Raiders in 2007. The Cowboys would really like to see Amendola develop into another Tech receiver, Wes Welker, who lit it up last year in New England. They have similar builds - Amendola is 5-10, 183, Welker is 5-8, 185 - and excelled as slot receivers in Mike Leach's offense.</div>

    <div align='left'>Georgia Tech DE Darrell Robertson <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><div align='left'> </div>Height: 6-4 , Weight: 255
Strengths: Fluid natural athlete who has an explosive first step…huge frame with the ability to add bulk…could translate well to a 3-4 OLB position due to his fantastic athleticism…top academic performer who is a hard worker on the field…real solid season as a senior (even better than his numbers show)...high upside prospect…

Weaknesses: Lacks the size to play inline DE at this time…will really struggle at the point of attack and can be susceptible to the run…struggles in the phone booth, especially when he lets OTs get their hands on him…will struggle to contribute right away…
Overall: Robertson showed great flashes while at Georgia Tech and his explosion off the line of scrimmage is intriguing. He is going to have to add bulk if he wants to stay at the defensive end position, <u>but his best projection is as a rush linebacker in the 3-4 scheme.</u> He shows the fluidity to transfer nicely to the position and could be a real find if a team is willing to give him a year to learn the position.</div>

    <div align='left'>Marcus Dixon DE Hampton
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Marcus Dixon went undrafted, but the Hampton defensive end signed as a free agent with the Cowboys on Sunday. According to his agent, the deal is three years for $1.1 million. Six teams made offers, agent Joe Linta said. "I'm happy, man," Dixon said. "This is the way it was meant to be. It's never been easy for me." The Cowboys drafted only one defensive lineman, Middle Tennessee State's Erik Walden, but he projects as a pass-rushing outside linebacker.

    QB/WR Daniel Polk
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Polk capped a brilliant four-year career with Midwestern State by becoming the school’s first NCAA Division II first-team All American and was the only quarterback in all of college football to pass for more 2,000 yards and rush for more than 1,000 last season.

Polk led NCAA Division II’s top offense while carrying a 153.74 pass efficiency rating after completing 65.7 percent of his passes (188-of-286) for 2,487 yards and 16 touchdowns. He threw just five interceptions.
Polk also rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the second-straight season finishing with 1,069 yards on 147 carries with a school-record 19 touchdowns.</div>

    lol.

I'd be surprised if even one of those guys make the squad, let alone actually contribute anything next season. They're undrafted for a reason...

Hey now, the draft used to be what, 12 rounds long? Even then, some of the most exciting NFL players were not drafted. They were given a chance to make a team, and they did it! It's not as uncommon as you might think. Anything can and will happen. Even if they are worse than the guys drafted, one of the other guys could sustain an injury. As we know, injuries are a big part of football. Once that happens, all bets are off. Remember, to stay in a poker game, all you need is one chip, and a chair.

Amendola has a chance. He has good hands, runs good routes, is a smart and tough player.

His niche will be in the slot for some team.... and if you think about, that is what Dallas needs; that quick, slot WR.... Amendola fits that better than Hurd or Austin, really.

Heading into next year, Owens, Crayton, and Stanback are locks. Glenn is too, if he is healthy.

Depending on how many WRs we keep (and the Glenn question), there could be a little turnover at WR.

Say we keep 6 (including Glenn), we have 2 more roster openings for Austin, Hurd, and Amendola to compete. If we keep 5, we have one (obviously). Amendola should be able to compete for a roster spot. Should be interesting to see it unfold.

I think Miles' job is in jeapordy. His hands were inconsistent last season and we've got all the returners we could ever need. Personally I still want to bring back one of my favorite Cowboys WR of all time: THE number 85, Jamaica Rector.

I'd like to see Marcus Dixon make the team. You can never have enough DE/OLB in our system.

We also brought in Mark Bradley.... the WR who caught the game winning pass against USC for Stanford.

I think we'll stick with Austin and Hurd ultimately; Hurd is the most ready to contribute if we need him. And Austin's speed gets him open. He probably has the highest ceiling....

But you never know. Bradley and Amendola will get their chance. I suspect we'll put one on P.S. Perferably, Bradley (he has more potential to be a #2 than Amendola)

Should be an interesting training camp for the WRs...
