A key coaching pick-up can be just important as a key draft pick or free agent steal. Post some news or rumors about coaching situations in New Jersey.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Sonics' GM Sam Presti is believed to be in the process of deciding whether coach P.J. Carlesimo will return to the helm next season, Gary Washburn of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer is reporting.

Carlesimo's work with Durant, as well as his relationship with veteran players, has been under scrutiny and Presti apparently has been struggling with the decision.</div>

Former Spurs assistant which system I think we should pick up. Devin is much like Parker and Carter can attack like Gino. We just need Sean to somehow become Duncan haha.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It appears Avery Johnson didn’t like the Jason Kidd trade after all. Johnson was fired Wednesday, then talked about it with ESPN Radio. After calling Devin Harris “like a son to me”, Johnson said his biggest regret was “Maybe I should have given the ball to Devin Harris a little bit earlier.” At the time of the trade, Johnson was quoted as saying “we like our team”.</div>

Long shot but hey, can't hurt to dream.

This is the area I would really like to see the Nets make some moves. I believe it's the one area where they can find and/or impliment an identity.

PJ waited a long time on the Spurs bench to become a head coach again. He'd probably go back to the Spurs if he was let go by the Sonics franchise since he already has a relationship with that organization.

I like how Avery said Devin Harris was a son to him. Only coaches who actually have that with their players are Pop and Duncan and look how well that turned out. I just cannot see Frank ever being someone on this team's mentor like that.

Darrell Armstrong is another one I wouldn't mind seeing. Already has a relationship from the players point of view and is already older than Frank.

Avery may feel that way, but I haven't got the impression that Harris had those feelings. In fact, he seemed happy to get away from Avery.

    Assistant coaches? Hm..

I wanna keep a lookout on Iavaroni. If for some strange reason, he gets canned by Memphis, I'd love for us to pick him up.

As much as I would like to see the Wiz beat the Cavs I wouldn't mind them getting bounced in the 1st round again and dumping Eddie Jordan. Him and Frank together would be awesome. I doubt he gets fired, but you never know what will happen after 3 straight 1st round exits.

I don't feel that Nets management is even remotely looking at adding to the staff. They will only add to the staff to replace someone leaving, ala Cartwright who USF chose not to hire, or someone close to the organization, ie former Nets assistants on the current Wizards staff, leaves or is let go by his current organization and wants a job.

Even if the Wizards lose against the Cavs, there's no way he's getting fired.

Especially without your best player hurt for most of the year.

I would love if Darrel Armstrong can be one of the assistant coaches. He can really get people fired up and focused something Frank clearly lacks. Hes good with Xs and Os but doesnt have a personality that imposes the best from his players. Darrel can bring that.

Three assistants have expired contracts. Bob Thate, the shooting coach, was brought in by Kidd. I think you are dead wrong.

Maybe you are right. But that doesn't preclude the Nets from offering those 3, whomever they may be new contracts. Thus far there has been no news of comings and goings of the stuff nor has there been any rumors of such.

Like the players, coaching contracts are up July 1.
