Holy ****ing damn: Breaking News on outside the lines on ESPN (haven't been able to find an article yet so I'll give the gist of what I heard). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Tuesday at 5:00 pm in North Philly (I believe), the following occurred: Marvin Harrison fist fought a patron who he had problems with, then it escalated. Marvin Harrison legally owns 25 guns (but that's still seems kind of crazy). Marvin Harrison was involved in a shooting, and has hit at least one by-stander in the shoulder. A little girl was also hit by breaking glass; Police are waiting to confirm this report. Marvin denies shooting anyone, but there seem to witnesses that will soon collaborate their stories with the police, and they supposedly finger Harrison. It was his gun that was proven and the one that fired 50-caliber bullets (they proved it with a ballistic test). I think Marvin has also had some problems with other people in the past before, and got into some sort of lawsuit for choking someone. He doesn't seem very clean cut right now. I hope no one was seriously injured. The man who was getting shot at had previously done ten years in jail (I forget the charge but it was a violent crime), and he was not injured aside from getting his hand grazed by a bullet. Marvin will probably get charged with something because in Philly there is a law stating the owner of a gun involved in a crime will automatically get in trouble (misdemeanor) . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Relating this back to the Colts: Looks like the Colts need to add some WR depth, I'm not too worried (I like Anthony Gonzalez). Pretty crazy. For like a decade now ESPN has been riding this guys jock because hes such a nice, quiet guy compared to Randy Moss, TO, Chad Johnson, Keyshawn Johnson, etc. The thing is ESPN blows up those guys' bad attitudes beyond reality. None of those guys are EVER in trouble with police, they just like to talk a lot. This is looking pretty legit and if true I doubt Marvin ever plays in the NFL again. Look at what Pacman got and all he was charged with was relatively minor offenses (if he got convicted at all, I can't remember). Marvin should get minimum one year suspension and he'll probably be in jail well over a year anyway. It was nice watching you Marvin Harrison. You crazy, crazy bastard.

He's always been one of my favourite receivers, but I agree, professionalism/classiness on the field doesn't necessarily equate to the same off of it (and vice versa).

I hate to bring up random OT team biases but it pisses me off to see the ESPN analysts rip on the Raiders constantly for being punks or not classy yet theres basically no one on the team that has actually done anything bad off the field (nor on the field but thats a different story). The only thing that comes to mind is the kicker Janikowski who got into a couple bar fights a few years back. I was just watching the Jim Rome show, don't ask me why, and he said some stupid comment like "you need 3 arrests to be allowed onto the Raiders". WTF. Everyone on the team is a choir boy if you're going off of arrests or suspensions.

If Harrison is somehow found not guilty, I would make an apology to anyone. Blackadder is right in that respect, but I really doubt he is innocent based on the ballistic tests and having fought the victim moments prior to the shooting. His Gun is a very unique one made in Belgium.

I think I read somewhere that the police just lacked evidence to come to a conviction. I'm guessing the media's ignored it because it'd make them look fairly stupid for how overboard they went when it first came out.

The details are so vague though, I'll try to follow up on this in the future.
