How does Darious Songalia get suspended for that tiny hit on lebron, but K.G pushing a ref gets him absolutely nothing???

Tiny? He smacked him in the face on purpose. He initiated the contact.

Ref was holding KG back from behind. He didn't initiate the contact, and in fact had no idea who was holding him.

I didn't see the hit on Lebron, but any hit on Lebron and the league is going to watch it.

Garnett resisting and shoving a ref that is trying to slow him down, is kind of a natural action that a mad player will take and the ref assumes will probably happen. Now obviously Garnett should have kept his cool, but it wasn't really suspension worthy.

Now SOngailia's may not have warranted a suspension either though, I just haven't seen it.

I've been aloof since I got GTA IV, can someone post the clip of Songaila hitting LeBron?

Without knowing anything--I can tell you because KG is a fomer NBA poster-boy, a super-star, and league official's hope to get the Celtics back to the promised land...against...the Lakers. They're not going to suspend a super-star in a game that matters. A role player, however, is different.

The call on Songaila is argueable, it might be on purpose it might be because Lebron had his arm tangled around Songaila's hand.

It is totally not suspension worthy.

"If that happened to Lebron and he hit Songaila. the league would not suspend Lebron."" <- Came from Jeff Van Gundy during Game 6.

As for Garnett, he totally initiated the contact as in he shoved the ref.

There's a clear double standard in the league.

    Here's the clip

    <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Bbcp40CEfzg&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Bbcp40CEfzg&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>

I thought Lebron got hit a lot worse by Stevenson and Caron Butler.

I felt KG should have been suspended a game for the elbow he throw at Pachulia in Game 4.

    <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9JD-VgiUNoU&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9JD-VgiUNoU&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>

To quote Stu Jackson "that was an unnatural basketball motion"

I don't see where Garnett pushes the ref in that video. I saw him slap a ref on the ass a few games ago though. If he did push a ref, he should be supsended, since they suspended Duncan for the same thing.

The ref was trying to restrain KG from the back, and he pushed the ref off of himself.

It doesn't really matter whether or not Songaila got suspended. He sucks, and the Wizards probably would have lost by even more with him on the court.

The announcers during the Celtics-Hawks game said it the best. Put James in Songalias place and he would have never been suspended.

Thats what sucks about this league.

The league wants to protect it's stars and money makers. If Lebron was suspended a couple of games, a lot less people would watch. Also they don't want their stars getting injured. No one will stop watching if Songailia is out.

The league does have a bias for their star players (also foul-calling), and it does make it unfair, but the league wants to make money.

Because if the league had suspended KG, and if Lebron did the same thing as Songalia, and Lebron was suspended, who wants to watch the Cavs without Lebron lol? Would the Celts be as fun to watch without KG?

That was a terrible call on Songaila, to suspend him for game 6. He tapped him in the face.

I'm just curious, and if you didn't watch more than 5 games I can't blame you. But how many games did you watch of the 2006-07 Celtics?

Most of them, including the preseason, some were hard to watch, being down 20 and whatnot but I still followed them like crazy.

Well, you are probably the exception, my guess is that most people who were half interested in 2006-07 became a lot more interested with guys like KG and Ray Allen on the court as well.

Of course, I agree as well Lavalamp, that there are a lot of band wagoners and that most would leave again if KG, Ray and Pierce (any combination) were to leave the team. But most teams have them. lol
