If the Raps cant fix their starting PG problem then im sure they would have to let go of one of these guys... Plus im sure Calderon wouldnt mind playing with his national teammate in Gasol. Thoughts?
Both great players but neither really fit in that well in the triangle. If you could try and steal Udrih from the Kings he'd be cheaper and maybe a better fit because hes bigger, shoots better, scores better, still passes well, etc. Tinsley has a pretty sizable contract but hes potentially a good fit for the triangle with his size, shooting, passing, etc. Trade some crap contracts (Fish + Mihm and a 2nd?) and he shouldn't be too hard to get.

Ford isn't going to get the Raptors much in return with his injury history so if they want anything of much value they are gonna have to look to move Calderon. Portland definitely has pieces to offer

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Newble + Mihm + pick for Calderon</div> Ok, let me tell you something. This isn't NBA Live 08, were you take two guys who haven't played all year and trade him for a top 3-5 PG in the East. I'm sorry, but your logic and trade ideas are so stupid and biased towards the Lakers, I feel bad for Laker fans everywhere.
Its still early in the process, so I wouldn't go about making assumptions about the Raptors PG situation yet. Both players have publicly stated the desire to start, but BC has yet to meet with them (I think he will later this week). That should give us a better idea of what the situation's like. I know Colangelo's already stated many times that the Raps will match any offer given to Jose (he's a restricted FA), so I'm assuming that he'll be coming back next year regardless. If they were to move one, my guess is it'd be TJ. I know he'll bring less, but Jose's too good of a player to deal away simply for trade value.
niether guy defends well and neither are great shooters. those are pretty much the two requisites of being a PG in the Lakers triangle
Very true, but Calderon would have great chemistry with Gasol, is very good passer and keeping turnovers low. If they could get him for Mihm and Newble they should do it.

Why do you think one of the best GM's in the league is going to trade away our starting PG for Mihm and Newble. You're ideas are so asinine.
Raptors management is not like Memphis. Laker fans, please do not think that just because we were able to sucker Memphis into giving up their star player, that we can do that for every other franchise. Calderon or Ford are not coming here. We don't really need them anyways. I'm pretty confident with our point guard situation. Fisher has stepped up, and although he may not be a superstar, he is a more than capable starter for this team. My only worry is Jordan Farmar. In the offseason, all we need to do is bring in a backup point guard who can play some defense, and challenge Jordan for his minutes. Tyrone Lue anyone?

Those are ridiculous shooting numbers for a point guard.
