If I went to the Jazz/Laker game today with my Laker jersey on, I wouldn't have made it out alive.

No, but they shouldn't taunt Fisher's daughter who has eye cancer.

It was probably only one stupid fan, no reason to bash a whole fanbase over it.

Uh no there were various people making cancer allusions.

When Fisher's booed, people are being ignorant of his unique situation.

So he gets a pass? Lets not forget that it's completely normal to boo Fisher just for being a Laker.

I highly doubt that most of the people in that arena were yelling cancer, and I wouldn't see anthing wrong for them booing him, he is playing for the opposing team

A significant amount were. No one said it had to be the majority, the chants could be easily heard IIRC.

He wasn't crying or anything, but it's kind of hard to just brush it off when somebody actually comes and confronts you and starts mocking your family. I'm pretty sure Derek is still pretty upset about what happened earlier on in the season. I do agree that he does have to try and put it behind him. I don't know if this is exactly true but part of the reason why he got into early foul trouble both these games was probably because he got too caught up in the crowd and ended up making stupid mistakes

Fisher doesn't have a major obvious problem with it. It's his teammates and the fans.

Well if Utah booing Fisher and trying to get into his head is wrong (seems like it), then pretty much every arena of professional sports is guilty of it.

Just because a player hasn`t had a daughter with cancer, shouldn`t they be respected and not booed... Especially say College players who don`t make millions of dollars like Fisher, or European players who get worse booing and stuff, and also make far less than 5 mill per year.

that guy dissing fisher's daughter is straight wrong (and this is coming from a person with a pretty sick sense of humor)....that room service blow up doll did make me chuckle a tad, although I would never do something like that to taunt a player.......

They're not just booing Fish, they're chanting CANCER and making jokes about his family situation. If you don't think that's classless and inappropriate, then I really don't know what to say to you.

I do think making fun of his family situation is classless and inappropriate, however I also think booing, swearing, insulting, and mocking players is classless and inappropriate too. Classless and inappropriate stuff happens in all arenas, and fans no matter what arena tend to boo, insult, mock, etc. and do what they can to disturb and get into opposing players heads.

No, actually the Utah fans are the only fans to have done such things. I have never heard any arena make fun of Derek's personal situation. I understand during Kobe's trials in the 2004 season, that there would be chants of "rapist" or other names floating around, but that's different. These fans aren't calling out Derek, or mocking him, they're making fun of his daughter, his own family. That just really isn't called for in my opinion. If you want to boo and get into a player's head, then fine. Boo HIM, target HIM, don't target his own daughter or his family
