^^^^hmmm. That's sad to hear, because I've liked Jordan since his UCLA days and I think if he focused he could one day take the starting role from D. Fish.........Fisher will just have to be careful not to get into early foul trouble in game 5. If Fisher can play more minutes then Sasha will/should get the bulk of the minutes at the backup spot.......

I seriously think putting in Coby Karl wouldn't be too bad an idea. It's not like the boy is bad or dumb. From what I've seen and heard, he has a high IQ and can shoot the lights out (That I saw during summer). And who knows, he knows its his one chance, so he comes out with great energy. It's not like we haven't seen him play with alot of energy before. I think having him out there is a plus over Jordan right now.

I think Ira needs to take Vlad's minutes too.

I was wondering about Ira the other day....he won't do much offensively, but defensively he would do a much better job on Williams than Sasha or Farmar....maybe even Fisher......

I actually thought Sasha played phenomenal defense on D-Will yesterday. It limits his offensive production somewhat, but I'd rather give D-Will 20 and Sasha 0 than D-Will 35 and Sasha 11. Just saying. Let their other guys beat us.

What's your guys' take on letting Coby Karl play a bit?

I personally think it'd interesting and slightly intriguing

Yeah. I've been saying we should give Coby Karl in a run in my previous posts.

    Anyways, I miss these guys

I personally think that Phil Jackson should avoid playing Karl unless the Lakers are up by 30. He's just on a lower level compared to Farmar, and probably even Newble.

I want to see this guy out there, especially for defensive reasons. Same with Mbenga, we need him to get physical, but Phil doesn't throw him any PT.

Luke is playing awesome ball this post-season. Vlad has been a major disappointment. But shooters are streaky, if his shot gets going, he'll take off. That's the problem with shooters, you can't really sit them for an extended period of time if you want them to break out.

I just don't see anything in Farmar, anymore. Ever since that Crittenton trade, he seems to have lost his desire because he knows his minutes are guaranteed. Plus, I've always felt that he wasn't a triangle PG. I wonder if we should just test his value on the market this off-season, see if we've got any biters who are willing to trade a young PG more suitable for the triangle.</div>

Exactly. Farmar isn't meant to be in a triangle system. He needs to be playing for a team like New Jersey or something, he'll fit perfectly there (I know Devin Harris is there now, but Farmar would work well with teams like those)

This is another reason why I'm glad we didn't trade Bynum for Kidd. Kidd wasn't what we needed because the triangle doesn't need a real point.

I remember a while back I said Chauncey Billups would be the perfect match for the PG position for the Lakers and I still believe it. He would such a perfect fit. Oh well.

Around the trade deadline, I started thinking that if the Lakers gave up on Farmar, the UCLA product would look good playing for the other LA team.

PJax generally doesn't like sacrificing the offense by substituting in a defensive player. Still it wouldn't hurt for PJax to dip into the bench a little to see if a guy like Newble or Karl can get hot and make some plays or bring much needed energy off the bench. If they come in and struggle they can go back to watching from the sidelines.

I don't agree about the comments Farmar isn't a "Triangle" type guard. He managed Ben Howland's halfcourt schemes just fine at UCLA and when he comes off the bench his job is to push the tempo with Sasha. The problem is Farmar doesn't have the size or savvy to deal with a premiere guard like DWill. When the Jazz set the pick on Farmar with Boozer or Okur, he's completely rubbed out of the play. The only way for him to compete is to anticipate, set his feet and take the charge.

Farmar's matchup should be Price, but he has to be ready for the opportunities presenting themselves to him.

Don't be surprised if Farmar steps up at home in Game 5, he's a gamer and is highly competitive. He won't want to lose his minutes to Sasha.

Farmar isn't even trying out there, Shape. He doesn't hustle, he doesn't move his feet on defense, goes around the pick without any desire, jacks up stupid shots, and does nothing but hurt us.

He may be a gamer, but if he crumbles under the pressure and turns into Smush 2.0, then the Lakers made a mistake trading away Java.
