<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>After weeks of informal conversations, Baron Davis' agent, Todd Ramasar, met with Warriors officials Thursday to discuss a potential contract extension for his client. But the talks failed to provide any satisfaction for Davis, a two-time All-Star who just turned 29.

In fact, the sides are so far apart that Ramasar brought up the specter of Davis using his opt-out clause to void the final year on his current deal and become an unrestricted free agent as of July 1.

"After sitting down with the Warriors organization (Thursday) regarding Baron's future, I don't know what direction the Warriors are going," Ramasar said. "Baron is adamant about remaining a Warrior but based on my conversations with the team (Thursday), we have to consider all of his options." -- Contra Costa Times</div>

I know it's a longshot, but if we manage to buy out Walker's contract, wouldn't we have enough to sign him? I know this is the epitome of pipe dreams, but it's fun to imagine.

A buyout doesn't get you out of the cap space ramifications.

I don't see why Minnesota would want Baron. By the time their young players are ready, Baron would be past his prime, and the team isn't ready to win right now. Might as well suck for a few more years and get some high draft picks.

I don't see why Baron would come to Minny. It's not his type of game. If anything, he wants big money in NY. He wants a coach that'll let him run and shoot 3's all the time. NY is the place for him if anything.
