I'm just throwing this one up in the air. Josh Howard ($9.9M) plus fillers (maybe Eddie Jones and Juwan Howard) for Carmelo Anthony ($14.4M). Dirk stays at 4 and Melo helps the Mavs on the break. Better scorer, can get to the rim more and can actually get up for Kidd's alley-oop's. With Anthony, the Mavs can win now and long term. If they will be willing to deal with Josh' off-court woes, why not Melo's? The problem here is that Denver is willing to put Melo on the block because of his off-court antics. Josh is not exactly the role model Denver might be willing to gamble on. What do you guys think?

    O'NEAL not O'NEIL.

I see no reason Denver would do this.

Keep in mind that Carmelo has a BYC contract

Seriously? This would screw the Mavs more... Melo and Dirk BOTH need the ball to score... they both dribble 1 or 2 steps to either side then pull up... Actually, IMO they have similar games especially because they are bother forwards who prefer jumpshots.

Howard is a better 'sidekick' for Dirk.

Howard takes a lot of shots as wel,l but hasn't made a lot lately. I don't think Josh compliments Dirk at all or vice versa. I think Melo gets to the rim more than Josh and he runs the break better.
