I think everyone expects him to come back to Earth, but he just keeps getting better and better. It's almost bizarre.

These numbers are both puzzling and historic. I'm now rooting like crazy for him to keep it up.

Four walks and 44 strikeouts? A 0.00 road ERA after 30 2/3 innings? Crazy.

The numbers he's putting up are pretty crazy. It'll be interesting to see how much longer he can keep it up for. I figured he would have come back to earth by now, but he just keeps going along.

If only he hadn't served up that three-run HR to Balentien.

We haven't see a pitcher do this since Randy Johnson did it in what, 2004, with the D-Backs. He's been filthy good. I don't think he'll keep it up too much longer, but my god has he been good.

Amazing to think he was optioned to Triple-A less than a year ago. No one claimed him off waivers, so he was sent down. A few other pitchers have had starts like this, but they're names like Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez. I think it's great to see and I'll be rooting for him to keep it up.

Keep in mind that Cliff Lee was a premier prospect when he was coming up through the minors, and had a couple of very good years early in his career, but he got derailed for some reason when he was ready to make that jump to superstar status.

In 2005 he went 18-5 and finished fourth in the AL CY Young voting. The Indians signed him to an extension after that. But last year he got hurt in spring training and struggled when he came back. He also got in a confrontation w/ his catcher (not usually a good sign for a pitcher).
