<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Al Horford and Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant headlined the NBA All-Rookie team announced Tuesday. Atlanta's Horford was the only unanimous choice with 58 votes, followed by Seattle's Durant with 57 in balloting by the league's head coaches. Houston's Luis Scola (53), Los Angeles Clippers forward Al Thornton (48) and Seattle's Jeff Green (43) also made the first team.

The All-Rookie second team was Toronto's Jamario Moon, Memphis' Juan Carlos Navarro, Philadelphia's Thaddeus Young, Detroit's Rodney Stuckey and Houston's Carl Landry.</div>

I wouldn't take any of them off for him.

I would take Green off the first team and replace him with literally any of the five second teamers. Probably Navarro if I had to choose.

Sean Williams's abysmal second half of the season does not allow him to qualify for even third all-rookie team. I hope he's now reading the books how to defend in the game of basketball instead of puffing magic dragon. I expect some progress from him in the next season. If not, I'll have to admit Black Republican was right on SWAT.

He didn't deserve to make it but I think this could help put that motivational chip on his shoulder. I'm sure he's not the kinda cat that sweats this kinda thing but he strikes me as the kind of competitor that, in the back of his brain, says the guys that made these lists aren't that hot and will go out and prove it one way or another.

I know he had some real nice flashes during this past season but we gotta remember the kid wasn't even supposed to be in the rotation this year being rusty from the long layoff from BC. He worked his way in but ultimately he is still a raw kid who has a ton of upside with plenty left to learn.

This offseason will be our first real look into his work ethic and we'll see if he keeps making forward progress or if he gets hung up on the same old stuff. I still hold ALOT of hope for him and I think having some time this summer to process everything that was thrown at him is exactly what a kid like him needs.

I really hope he's still here by the beginning of next season.

Personally, I think that's the wrong approach with a kid like Sean. As much as we'd all like to see immediate returns for the overall benefit of the team we should be focusing on him steadily improving on the little things that put his butt on the bench when we needed him. We need patience while he figures it all out or we're going to watch another team benefit from the groundwork we are laying.

I was just thinking about how awesome it would be if he improved next season as much as Boone did into his 2nd season.

I'm not judging base off that, after Marcus rookie year, I remember Nets fan saying he was overhyped, and it's pretty similar with Sean Williams.

The critique of Sean is totally different than that of Marcus Williams. You have to look at the context; different expectations, different complaints, different backgrounds.

Marcus was in almost every mock lottery up until the day of the draft.

I never saw Sean Williams in any lottery. 17 was the highest I saw him and that's where he went. (Still a good pick, too)i

Noah didn't make it either (although he did fall only one vote shy)...and I suppose it's a good thing that noone from that Bulls team is going to be rewarded for what they did.

Sean Williams was an obvious pick just based on his natural talents.

it doesn't matter how different it was, it still mostly criticism.

Sean was projected, because most teams didn't want to take a risk on him cause on character issues, but almost everyone said if it wasn't for that, he'd be a lottery pick.

    1) Read what's in bold

    2) So Sean Williams isn't the perfect player. What's your point? Are you trying to say that the Nets draft picks are doomed because neither one is without some flaw? Who isn't?

I aon't saying their complete bust, but both had mediocre to disappointing rookie seasons.
