So, many folks are flopping all over each other playing the blame game on this D’Antoni thing. Uncle Jerry is cheap! Paxson is dunderheaded! D’Antoni is a flake! And now, ‘its noone’s fault, D’Antoni just chose the Knicks’ seems to be the rallying cry to let Paxson and Uncle Jerry off the hook. IMO, what happened here is exactly the thing that happened to Krause. He targeted a guy, TMAC, and tried to reign him in. TMAC played the interview game with the Bulls. He had nothing but nice things to say about Chicago and Krause. But, ultimately, he chose the Magic. See, that’s the thing. Who cares about the blame game? Any side can spin that however they want. At the end of the day, you have to execute. Paxson targeted D’Antoni. He didn’t get the job done. Sure, D’Antoni may have chosen the Knicks, but why didn’t he choose the Bulls? TMAC liked the Bulls in his comments, but opted to go with the Magic. Krause was vilified for running the team into the ground and creating an environment where nobody wanted to come. It seems like Paxson is in the same boat, 5 years after taking over for Krause. Top notch talent still does not choose to come to Chicago. The only way we can get someone is by paying a lot more that other teams are willing to pay. (ben wallace)

But, ultimately, he chose the Magic." TMAC's reasoning for choosing the Magic over Chicago is more than likely different from Mike D'Antoni's thought process. The Bulls were slow and the Knicks "didn't want to change him." It is said that Paxson was talking about defensive coaches and D'Antoni didn't like that. On top of that, the Bulls were slow, did I already mention that? The Bulls are a half step behind everyone else. It is alright to pick a little bit, but the Bulls are slow to get offers in. Now Jerry is pissed at D'Antoni for signing with the Knicks before his "offer" got placed in. I don't think people are avoiding us because we are "Chicago."
