<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Dallas Morning News reports Mark Cuban may make “overtures” to DeSagana Diop in hopes of luring the former Mav back to Dallas. Eddie Sefko writes, without explanation, that ”If the Mavericks feel he fits into their future, they will have a good chance to sign the free-agent 7-footer”. Diop has said he’s interested in staying in New Jersey or returning to Texas. To sign Diop, Dallas would have to use a significant part of their $5.5 million MLE or acquire him in a sign and trade with the Nets.</div> Nowitzki feels change is good - Eddie Sefko - Dallas Morning News Eh, let 'em have Diop back...as consolation for their playoff exit, and them giving us Devin and a 1st rounder.
Unfortunately for them I think Diop has a great place in our future, especially since I don't think we'll lose both him and Krstic. The Mavs have a good chance to sign Diop, sure, but so do the Nets.
Booo, wait for the Hawks to make an offer. The Mavs are always gonna be a team that just makes the playoffs.

I'm honestly not suprised by this, as a Nets fan it kills me to admit this but when Dallas included Diop in the trade I actually thought they were giving up to much. If Diop leaves I think it helps NJ get away from playing our "limited offensive game" that Frank loved to play with Twin. I do admit Diop is a better offensive player that Collins at 26 yrs old but if you notice the way the NBA game has changed more and more teams are playing with slimmer athletic bigs at the starting 5 spot instead of the lane clogging bigs.

Nets will have to choose. The man they grew up from a young ball player or the Jason Collins replica with more offensive game.
Sign and trade please. The only problem is there are no more tradeable assets on the Mavs we would want back except for Dirk and that would never happen.
