Russell dismisses reports: Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell laughed when he heard reports that his weight had ballooned to more than 300 pounds in the offseason. Raiders coach Lane Kiffin began calling him "Big Boy" and his friends teased him, but Russell went on with his offseason workouts as he prepares for his first full season as a quarterback in the NFL. "I think it's all fun and jokes," Russell said, "just a reason to get myself better and just keep myself in shape." Russell said he weighed 269 pounds. _____________________________________________ Just a little fun reading....although, that's pretty damn big too! Then again he did come out of college weighing about 250, but 20 lbs over without proving himself worthy of his "fat" contract? Not to mention, that's what HE said he weighed, I'm sure he shaved off a couple poundages (new word?...lol) for the sake of saving face. Hope for the Raider fans sake this isn't a glimps of things to come
He's got big bones. That is about what he should weigh. He throws a tight spiral harder than Jon Elway. The Raider WR's are going to need to start wearing kevlar vests to reduce the impact.

I'm in no way knocking his cannon arm...I'm just bring up the fact that I hope this doesn't get to be an issue coming to camp out of shape. I would've figured with the contract he signed and the wanting to prove that he deserves the money after the hold out, that he would've came to camp in top shape to prove a point and drive home the fact that he's thier present and future field general. Not come to his first camp, out of shape. But the man can play...it's just the team is gonna start looking to him as the leader and he has to set an example
