So, so far we have two coaches from our staff that teams have interest in. First it was Kurt Rambis, now Brian Shaw. Why can't teams just leave our staff alone? I'd personally appreciate keeping our guys around.
They must not be asking for a lot of money to be head coach for the Bulls to be considering them. Buss could fix it by paying them better money
I actually heard that rumor earlier this week too Shape. I'd hate for that to happen. It's not that I don't want Rambis to eventually get a HC job, but I just don't want him coaching Phoenix.
well, i really doubt we'd lose both guys .. if one goes, the other one will stay to be Phil's un-rivaled air apparent.

Rambis or Shaw?</div> I'd rather see Shaw stay. Rambis did a good job when PJax was having his hip surgery and Rambis gives some great interviews on the radio, but my gut tells me Shaw has the players' ears more and will eventually be a stand out coach in the league. I saw a one on one interview with Shaw and he said he wants to coach an offensive system similar to the Triangle, but with a more uptempo feel to it. This about a year or two ago, and I think a lot of his ideas were incorporated this season because of all the speed and versatility we have on our roster.
I'm hoping Brian Shaw stays with us for the long run. I remember watching him play during our three peat, so it would be a treat to watch him coach this team. I like Rambis too, don't get me wrong, but I wasn't born earlier enough to watch him play. I just feel more of a connection with Shaw I guess...

Rambis or Shaw?</div> i pretty much agree with Shape. I think Rambis had his shot, and I think he could be a solid coach somewhere else, but he's too much of a lovable goof ball, I dont think he commands the respect of the Lakers players. BShaw has the respect of the players, and more importantly, the respect of Kobe. If the superstar respects, everyone will fall in line That said, I really hope Rambis gets his shot somewhere. He has paid his dues IMO
Guys... at the end of the day even if they (our asst. coaches) really want to stay... their careers come first... Therefore they should jump on the gun when they are offered to be the head coach of a team
I agree. Everyone wants to work for a higher position, and our assistants are no different. I would be lying if I said I didn't want to keep these two, but at the end of the day, it would be selfish to confine them here if they have an opportunity elsewhere to fulfill their dream of becoming a head coach. If they are qualified, and if they are ready, then they will move on to a bigger and better position. That's just how things work in the NBA
