<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Thorn said this is a good draft for power forwards and points guards with a couple quality centers. The Nets are looking for virtually everything.

"Obviously, our needs are depth and more shooting," Thorn said, noting the Nets also are looking at someone "to guard the rim" after the team struggled terribly on the defensive end this past season.</div>

It also mentions a quote where Thorn states he believes a good player will be available at 10. Read into that what you will.

Well, if that's the case they should be able to pick Love, Arthur or McGee from Nevada...not to bad. or they can always trade Minnesota for their two 2nd rounders...lol (I'm an obvious Minny fan)...but what better way to add depth than two high second rounders? Minny was talking about trading one of thier second round picks, they might as well package them both and get another first rounder.

If we take Arthur or McGee at 10, I'm on suicide watch.

lol....Arthur's not a bad pick up at 10....McGee is a stretch but he has potential. But your cool if they get Love?

Come on Kid, let's play GM and work a trade with Minny

McGee is too much of a project. If the Nets go that route, might as well take DeAndre. There are better prospects than Arthur to take @ 10.

who else? DeAndre will be gone by #10. Maybe Randolph or Gallinari? What about trading down?

Wouldn't trade down. A lot is to be done with workouts still, but I expect Rose, Beasley, Lopez, Bayless, Godon, Mayo, Gallinari to all be gone. After that, not sure yet.

I will be the one to watch you...from the after life, that is. Those are reasonable projects to draft if you can afford to take on a project bigman, or if you have no other glaring needs from your wing positions. That removes the Nets from both counts.

No to McGee, Jordan, or basically any project big man. Don't know about you guys but im sick of these project picks that rarely work out. I'd rather us take the best available SF/SG with both picks then a project big man. Honestly, if we want someone to defend the rim i'd rather see if we can pry Josh Smith from the Hawks because hes a proven beast of a defender, and has potential. I know hes a RFA, but i remember reading somewhere a while ago that the Hawks, being the redic. franchise they are, are not keen on resigning him because of the money he'll probably demand. Granted this would probably only work in my eyes if we can unload RJ's bloated contract.

This is the year of the PG too bad we just got Devin Harris. You can quote me on this, Sean Singletary will be a top 3 PG in the draft and he'll go in the 2nd round. We should take him even if it's as a backup.

well, since we're officially trying to get rid of Marcus, I wonder if we're looking for a PG in the draft, in a trade, or what...

If we traded Marcus Williams, i'd actually have no problem with another PG being drafted. I think the thing to realize about our draft this year is that we need Impact players regardless of position.

I wouldn't mind taking a PG either but no way I would want one at #10 or even #21. 2nd Round if Singletary is there and we don't take him I'm gonna wet myself and blame it on my brother.

Trade Williams for a 2nd, if they really want to get rid of him. I think he still has a chance to be solid.

i think they meant like a low post defender... sorta like what collins was. cuz boone and swat are too weak to guard the amare's / howards / brands / boozer

Yea, only problem is i don't really see anyone in this years class who fits that kind of role. Granted im probably over looking a bunch of people , but no one jumps out at me as being a strong tough PF.

well, theyre rooks. theyve never been on a workout regimen before, most likely and there bodies arent developed yet. collins was a tree trunk who had weight on him. you're not going to find a guy to play solid post defense that quickly. joey dorsey in the second round?
